Common Sense.

After having been on a few dating sites and reading multiple reviews, tips, stories both successful and otherwise Ive yet to find anywhere that offers real common sense advice. All sites carry with them certain hazards, the most common of the worst is hurt feelings and the '' what a dope I am'' reaction to being blind sided. We all by nature rely on our intelligence and intuition neither of which can guard against a real internet-hardened pro. Un fortunately everyone must be put in the same category of a possible gamer no matter their apparent ''different than all the others'' appearance so Ive learned some basic hard and fast rules in no certain order of importance.
One; Consider distance travel as you would a job prospect.
two; Look for the unwritten,unsaid; I.E. The age range he/she finds acceptable, someone who's 50 and says 40-48 as a range? Run dont walk away from that one. No matter the sundry great qualities claimed you'll always be a temp.
three; If one uses the honest, honesty more than once in an ad chances are theyre not looking for anyone too close to their own personality.
four; Assert a order of progression, cut off after three or four emails and the same amount of phone calls if the person balks at meeting in person. For me this was the most pronounced and repeated routine and results only in your relating things you will regret, theres seems to be an enormous appetite among some for information of detail,see number 4
four; Draw the line early in how much of yourself you'll divulge, dont share how many kids you may have, where they live, their ages, sexes. The details of your marriage, wheres the x now, where you work, and others, use your instincts as though you were talking to a telemarketer.
five; Dont rule out a lack of a photo as one you wont consider, dishonesty and fibbing is predominate out there in some very creative ways so assume its there and judge not till you yourself are perfect.
Overall act smart while telling all you are smart, if you see someone who's on 3 different paid sites claiming a true heart looking for another forget it, for that person its become an addiction never to be satisfied.
Mostly their ads are for their own ego.
But always be yourself no matter what and keep in mind that life isnt as bad as we may think being alone.
