it took me a while to catch on to how this site works.
The company owns several differently named sites.

You join one site set up your profile and pay your fee.

Your profile is automatically then made visible on all the others sites. (this is how they justify having umpteen million members)

If you find someone you want to contact and send them a message, for them to be able to respond, they must be registered on the same website as you. This is why one of the reasons so many messages go unanswered. They can review your profile (hence the 'x looked at you' message, but can't read/respond to your message because they are on a different website.
For them to contact you, again they have to be on the same website and paid a subscription.
