Be2.com's Crappy Membership Cancelling Process

Authored by: Anonymous (Anonymous User) on Monday, April 08 2013 @ 12:36 am
I started this idiotic scam fight with this company jan 2012..after 15 months of fruitlessly telling them I cancelled well within my rights, within a few hours of signing up to the Premium Membership, as soon as I saw the scam they were trying to pull when I received their invoice..

Despite what they say, as others have said below, I signed on for what I thought was £5 for a month trial with an option for a further 6 months, as we all now know it's actually not an option but a mandatory period, so I cancelled as per their own condition 13, by email, within hours and well within the 7 day cooling period that THEY stipulate [never mind the 2 weeks we get as UK consumers]..no written or signed communication required under 13, they acknowledged receipt of my email with instructions as to how to cancel if you were a premium member, which as i never used any services to make contact, legally i was not...

so i thought this was the end of it, but then they brazenly took £150 off my CC following the so-called trial month, I complained to my CC fraud dept saying this was not authorized, they reversed the payment, BE2.co.uk didn't complain or object during the 45 day period that they could have, and i got the £150 back..then I receive an email etc saying account was due payment etc.

obviously this is a scam of the most blind, idiotic and typically european type..

I have now received my first UK solicitors letter, after 15 months, from a 'drydensfairfax' collections and solicitors in Bradford, Yorks, having been sent emails by a German collection company for the last 6 months or so 'Auch Witte Thiel'..having answered them in plain english, no one ever seems to talk any common sense, just this line about the account was never cancelled and the burden of proof is on me etc.,.which under UK law it isn't I believe, and I transacted this siging up on the UK site..so UK Law it is!! at least here our consumer rights are protected, and as someone already mentioned below, his/her legal advice already confirmed that we actually have 2 weeks to cancel ANY AGREEMENT..

i've told them many times if i take them to court, they will be massive losers as i believe i have acted perfectly honourably as far as it can go..these are the only online people who have ever acted in this way and i have used a few sites to see what was out there..

maybe we all need to join together and do a class action and sue these guys for millions, that might shut them up pretty fast, or advise the Watchdog programme maybe..i'll keep posting here to see whats happening with you all and what may happen to me, though frankly they can whistle in the wind as far as i'm concerned, it quacks like a scam, smells like a scam, and will be trod on like a scam..

this link below is excellent, and gives a clear line of action should anyone need or want to try it..frankly I think ignoring them is the answer right now unless anyone can say they have actually had to go to court etc..which i doubt.
