Be2.com's Crappy Membership Cancelling Process

Authored by: Anonymous (Anonymous User) on Friday, March 01 2013 @ 07:52 am
Unfortunately I have also fallen for this awful scam. I cancelled my membership a while ago, or so I thought. They have since tried to obtain money from my visa debit car every 3 months, but thankfully each time my bank has declined and called me to let me know. I hadn't had any communication from them directly until I tried to go, back onto the site to go through the cancellation process again. Once I had done this the communcication started up again and they said I have to pay as I have used the site. I pointed out to them that I hadn't used the site for anything other than to try to cancel my membership and to obtain a phone number for customer services.

I haven't received any threats of legal from them yet, but I will fight this all the way. Bring it on!

really really happy i found this site, Thank you guys for your comments , sounds like you've just saved me alot of time, money and hassle i can do without. I was about to sign up and add my payment details to be able to read my emails, one thing that made me check them out was the fact that in just 3 days i have received countless emails from contacts and ive not even filled in the spaces to describe myself?? having been a member of other dating sites previously ive never had such a good response, with this in my mind i firmly believe that these member emails are fakes and i believe they are sent out by Be2 themselves ..
Hope you all get your monies back and the scammers get locked up soon .. Cheers once again.

Be2.com's Crappy Membership Cancelling Process

I have received my second letter of litigation threat from the solicitors acting on behalf of 'their client'. I have ignored these and all previous threats, as I too, had followed the instructions for removing myself from their system. Or so I thought! I had taken part in the 'free trial' and after two days ran off scared because I was receiving 'response' emails from people?? I hadn't sent anyone an email as I was still finding my way around. One person was extremely rude and suggested that I was wasting his time by not reading his profile before sending him an email?? Again, what email??
I will be contacting the communications Ombudsman if I get another threatening email.
Crooks!

Be2.com's Crappy Membership Cancelling Process

Joined be2 site for the five day free membership they offered.
filled in my profile and got 12 hits within less than 12 hours.
However I could not access any profiles of those interested in me.
They kept wanting my visa card details and to being a premier member.
When I emailed the support team I got an automated reply that did not address my concerns.
I deleted my profile and no longer wish to participate.
THIS is a SCAM DATING CITE STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!

Definitely a scam. The 'matches' that arrive in no way are matches. Replies to them turn out to be to deleted profiles so the messages have obviously been sent by the site. Cancellation process is ridiculously complicated. These people are trading on peoples emotions and then ripping them off......do not join this site!!!!

I tried to cancel my subscription before the renewal date from Be2 after paying £5 and realising it was absolute *censored*. Found it impossible...fax number unrecognised. I bombarded Be2 with about 30 emails a day for about 1 week to customer service, saying I wanted to cancel and couldn't. I told them I'd contacted the police, trading standards and MP using swear words left right and centre. After about a week I got a message saying they have canceled my subscription even though they've not received a signed fax or email. My £5 subscription will finish on imminently on 10/05/13. I've canceled my credit card in anticipation so no out of woods yet, so will update you. I even contacted the debt agency Injuncta in advance saying if they contacted me I would dispute it and fight them all the way. Fingers crossed its worked.

Only joined up with this nightmare yesterday, and unfortunately only read about it's horrendous reviews today.Immediately telephoned my bank and cancelled credit card..they were very sympathetic and have already had many calls about the site.I have not yet recieved any answer to messages sent via email or on the site, they were very quick to send me an email when i initially appeared to be interested in leaving, asking me to stay a while longer...grrhh,so stressed by it all.

yep fraid there trying to stitch me up now
Dear ....
The automatic renewal of your Premium Membership has failed due to a problem with your credit card/bank account. We have asked you to update your payment details in order to settle your account. Unfortunately, we are yet to receive payment from your credit card/bank account.

As there is a valid contract between you and be2, we will now take legal measures and hand this over to our collection agency. This may affect your credit rating.

If you have any questions or are having difficulties paying this invoice, please contact us immediately by writing to our customer service team.

f@!k them i fight them every step of way

I would guess that it would cost them a small fortune in legal fees to try and recover the £149 from all of us unhappy daters. I've just twigged that it's a scam and so will be contacting my bank tomorrow to prevent any amounts being taken from my credit card by these people.
...and I'm never signing up with another dating site ever again.

Glad to have found these comments - I've just discovered (after I thought I cancelled!!) that these scammers have debited another $270 (NZD) from my account! That was on July 13 and I have only just checked my credit card account after being away for a few days.
I am absolutely appalled - I sent an angry email RIGHT after *joining up* (which was at least three months ago), saying that the site was totally un-navigable and useless, and that I wished my membership to be cancelled immediately. I received nothing in reply. I wrote it off as a very bad experience but now find they are still charging me...it is utterly preposterous.
I am going to read through all the comments I can in an effort to try and work out what you guys have done with any degree of success - I don't want to have to go to the trouble of cancelling my credit card but that might be the only way.
