Shaadi.com is not that bad. I have met some great matches off of there ! However, recently last year actually I had met this guy who seems to be on this website just to fool around. He's a former investment banker and trader and he too hides behind PIC. PASSWORD and then goes and changes it - so no one can have access to his pics. Let me tell you, this guy was intelligent, smart, confident, suave, and classy - all the qualities that a girl wants in a guy this guy had ! However, all he wanted to do after he bought you drinks or dinner - was to be all over you. He just wanted to kiss you, grope you, and get physical - that was the bottom line for him. He said "talking" was overrated. I only went out with him only few times - but this is all he seems to be looking for ! So, girls beware he's still up on this site and he lives right outside of NYC in one of those 2 popular cities right next door. He's tall, dark, and handsome.......however, don't let him fool you. He seems to just want to have fun with girls and then ignore them. I don't think he's looking for a serious relationship. Afterall, isn't that what this shaadi.com is about .........if not marriage........then atleast a somewhat of a serious relationship ! That's the least we can ask for !

I have been on shaadi for about a month. Its really weird but feels like buying groceries online. Doesn't feel so genuine. I read quite a few profiles and i have to agree there are a lot of scammers out there.
Can't say i would recommend it, but then its one of the most popular indian matrimonial website

I really hope to have luck, I just joined yesterday, and I do agree that a lot of men in the US aren't as serious as they make themselves out to be, and I'm quite disappointed in that. Because I am a man from the US and serious about finding a match. And I hope that it doesn't hurt my chances in finding the perfect woman for me, but as everyone has said, and I agree that no matter what sites you're on I think there will always be scam artists out there, and that's unfortunate and cruel for the ones looking for a true love, and wants nothing more than a happy wonderful life with someone.

I agree with all the above comments - there are definetely some con artists on this website. I talked to a guy who lied about every single thing and his pictures were all fake as well. Kind of sad that people can reach a stage of such insecurity and lack of self confidence that they actually enjoy talking to people with a fake identity. Anyway, the sadder part is that I felt bad for him and thought he might be a nice person and kept talking to him and now he keeps asking me for money. I have obviously not, nor will I give him anything but lets see how long this goes on for.

I have created my profile on Shaadi.com. Spoke to a few women based in US (I am in the US) and a few in India too. Heard a lot of horrible stories from several women about how registered men deal with them. The problem is that Shaadi and several other sites are not stringent about the registration process.
I've also got a few rejections from women who's 'expected partner' profile I fitted well. And some rejected me after asking for my photo password. Looks like there are some women out for 'fun' too. So genuine guys like myself who are truly looking for a life partner are stuck.

Hi.... this site is mostly treated as dating site. I came across many weird people and i deleted my profile from that site. Worst thing was many guys were having actors profile. While uploading the pics, the site says that the pic is under screening, I have no clue how these guys are missing out the actors pictures.

This site is full of scammers. There are those who are out to have fun and the more dangerous is those out to scam you OUT of your life. The modus operandi of those out to scam you off your money is to hype one up with overly glorious statements too fast and too soon. Their pictures are always on the good looking side and they come up with a list of standard lists. I would advise that the minute they start mentioning about losing money, RUN!

Everything in this world is vulnerable to exploits by people who do not necessarily think good about others.
We live in a society where there is both good and bad.
We have to be always careful in whatever we do, and try and learn to protect ourselves.
Same holds true for a matrimonial website as well.
Online matrimonial services provide a platform for people to meet. And there are also features provided to protect people from other members spamming them.
I agree that the price offered by some of these matrimonial websites is way too expensive. It is time there are more choices available that are mre cost effective.
