Are You My Wife? Blogger Engaged

The popular Canadian blogger behind Are You My Wife? recently got engaged. Allan Wills (who is 31) started a blog two years ago to chronicle his quest on finding a wife. After his website was discovered by the media things got crazy. In the end, Willis went on 45 dates in 13 different countries in the first year of the websites exisitence. Some of the countries where he went on dates include Switzerland, Australia and China. Near the end, Willis did start to feel the pressure:

At some points I must admit it did get a bit out of control, but I promised I'd put myself out there for a year and even if I stayed single, I'd lost nothing and gained everything.

When Wills found British born Claire Marjoram a year ago he knew she was the one. He then started a new blogging website called "Our Ultimate Date", from where he would continue to chronicle his dating adventures with Claire. Last month, on vacation in Montreal, Canada, Allan asked Claire to marry him, and she agreed.

What's interesting is after all the media attention, Allan plans to start a dating site called AreYouMyPartner? which opens October 22, 2008. Not much has been released about the site but, it will offer "much more individual expression" for singles. I don't think Allan planned on starting a dating service (he still has a full time job) but with the viral nature on how word of his dating blogger spread it's a good idea for him to capitalize on the attention. I just hope he has the marketing and technical experience to back it up (or at least hire someone how does).
