Well, eHarmony's new TV Commercial seems to be doing the trick. The eHarmony review has become the most popular on this web site. The commercial shows them in a very professional matter which I think is reflected in their web site as well.

I did meet someone on eharmony and so far is going very well. Sometimes it takes a lof of patience. It took me 8 months to meet someone after many matches.

One can not expect a miracle. The site depends on real people. If they don't pay, sign, answer, it's not a system fault. It's just people. I say persevere. It's all real life.

I would caution anyone who is not your average/main-stream person
(whatever that really is :-) to do business with these people. If you like to
give control of such a personal thing as YOUR relationship and choices
regarding such, to a group who solely uses statistics to match you, then go
head on ... but don't be surprised if you end up being treated like you are
mindless, another statistic to them or possibly not even knowing you own
mind. In short, if you are comfortable managing your life as if you fit a
cookie-cutter form as a human, then eHarmony could be for you. If you
actively think, work at making the best/most intelligent decisions
for your life and relationships, I would highly suggest that this site will sorely
dissappoint you and be VERY costly! Good luck in whatever you do :-)

E HARMONY'S QUESTIONABLE ADS

I spent a good 40 minutes filling out the E Harmony "free personality profile"
only to be told I had no matches. I should have known something was off
when I saw the question on the profile did I think "church was/was not a good
place to meet people". Do they assume all who take their profile are regular
church-going Christians? I find out later- E Harmony's founder is a
conservative Christian whose books are sold on Christian "family values"
websites. They do not accept homosexuals either. (I am a straight, but non-
Christian, non religious woman)

I further resent their use of the word "scientific" in their advertising as there is
no "scientific" way to document what makes two people compatible. they
have also failed to produce stats on their divorce rate.

If they want to be faith based- that's their business. It would have saved my
valuable time to know these things up front. In that regard their ads are
misleading and deceptive.

I have to agree with everything being said here. It was the very first dating service that I joined. Did not have any luck what so ever on this site. A total disappointment after seeing their ads shoved in your face on TV all the time. The word "Scientific" is used very loosely. A bunch of questions is still not going to make two people click thats for sure. Not to mention the fact that they charge a lot of money to join and you don't get anything in return. At least for me anyway. I would not recommend that site to anyone and not because I did not have any luck! I just think it was a waste of my time and money. I had better luck on Yahoo and American Singles.

I did the so-called "7-day trial" and after 6 days of no success I decided to cancel to get my money back, they claim I never cancelled. Now I'm fighting to get my $59 back. They keep sending me emails telling me to cancel...after I already cancelled. I actually hate them now...a bunch a liars.

Your right, No-Harmony, and the doctor that does there ads on TV, if in fact he is a doctor. After six days I did the samething as you. That was 3 months ago, they lie just for the sake of lieing. If we could find enough X-members with the same trouble, we could bring a class action suit agenest them. I don't think what they do is right or the way they do it.

I agree. I had two matches and the matches never responded to my initial set of questions. It was a big waste of money.

I think they should call their company "E-baloney.com" Their claim of the patented method of finding a mate is just hype. Although they do focus on introducing Christians, their real loyalty lies in their devotion to the almighty dollar. Oh, and you don't even get to view a photo of the person, because that is seen as a superficial quality. Baloney. Although looks aren't the only thing, they are mighty important.

E harmony provided very few candidates and the process was extremely slow. When I tried to cancel I was put through an unbelievable battery of questions. At one point I had to ask "Why are you making this so difficult"? All I wanted to do was cancel and it took over 10 minutes on my dime. They don't have a toll free number.

This was my experience too. Very few matches, long and tedious process and OLD, they were matching me with men 15 to 20 years older then I. When I asked to drop the age range I was told they could not change it to decrease my possibilies but COULD change it to increase my possibilities...like quantity was better then quality. I asked for a refund and got it after I was subjected to a "Give it a little more time" talk....why? so I could be as old as the matches they found when it was all said and done? No thanks! Eharmony was not for me!

I get exasperated each time I use the EHarmony website. It times me out when I switch categories even when I've been writing a response. When I signin again, I'm back at square 1.
