Why are there more Negative Dating Reviews than Positive?

Frankly a lot of sites deserve the low reviews. Even bigger name dating sites often scam other places for users, which is patently unacceptable from an ethical and commercial standpoint. I'm sure there are actually some fantastic people at some of these sites, but ANY site that posts false personal ads on other sites to entice people to sign up does not deserve my money or time.

I've been doing some sampling over the past few days (originally started out looking for a hookup, but after I kept getting nearly identical responses pointing to one dating site or another, I've been replying more out of curiosity than anything else). Taken just from the personals ads off Craigslist that didn't get flagged in the first half hour, twenty emails received 15 responses, ALL of whom turned out to be fake. Notable sites that kept coming up: Fling.com, Booty411.com, AmateurMatch.com, AdultFriendFinder.com, AdultLocals.com, Singlesnet.com, and LikeToCheat.com.

Those sites can rot.

The reason is simple-online dating while in theory is a great idea-does NOT work.

I used PRINT personal ads for nearly TWO DECADES and I had so many dates and long term relationships than I can remember. I even met my one and only wife (now ex wife) via the print ads in a local Dallas, Texas paper. But the print ads did work for reason that i won't go into to since this is another subject.

But with on line dating and the fact that computers are cheap compared to what they cost the last time I bought a new one in 2003 ($2000.00) and the fact that you have people that love to stir up trouble, literally insane people online, scammers, fakes, bored people-every type of person but the one type you are seeking-the one that is actually SEEKING a relationship. those people have given up, been run off by the rift raft mentioned that you are left with a membership of scumbags.

Women complain there are no good men, they want suger daddies, they seek the impossible.

Men are maried cheats seeking 20 year old models.

I could go on.

But the bottom line is that the print personal ads worked because they wee only found in a local paper and the fact that people had to pay to put in the ad or the person responding to the ad had to write via snail mail and more importantly, give out a contact phone number.

Try getting a phone number via on line dating.

The on line sites are being sued right and left. But something will take their place. I just hope it works like those wonderful PRINT personal ads.

I agree with what has been said about FLING. A Total Scam. One woman that approached me let it slip that she worked for FLING. There are two types of women. One that sends you to a third party web site. The other type tries to get you to sign on to her webcam for $4.99 (to start). AmatuerMatch.com is not as bad, but still I wasn't able to find anybody for 3 months. I quit in disgust and the next day I started getting 4 to 5 messages a day telling me they loved my profile. Hmm, my profile said, 'This site is a scam. Don't contact me. I won't respond. You're all fakes". That was 60 days ago and the messages are still coming! Women are dying to meet with. I especially like the messages from women that say "we're so close, we've got to get together this evening for drinks" and they live 500 miles from my zip code. So far I have yet to find ONE site that is worth it. I've been on half a dozen and they are all worthless.

fling.com is a fake!!! I just joined today, and within 8 hours, I've received 10 replies to emails I sent this morning. all of them want me to email them on yahoo or hotmail addresses. Further, two of the hotmail aliases consist of the same name within one letter, only different combination of letters. Further both were super good looking and lived in a little podunk farmer town. BEWARE, I cancelled two seconds ago, after I found this site confirming my beliefs.

WOW!!!!!! I am shocked and upset and jealous all at the same time!!!! I went to fling.com I don't even remember how I got there but whatever. So I signed up for a week trial as a "Gold Member" and searched my city and find a bucnch or real good looking women and I'm like okay so where's the ugly broads at??? You mean to tell me that I only have sing horny gorgeous chicks all over my area?? NO WAY!!!! Exactly no way.... Came across some chicks I was diggin and sent out some messages and while I'm doing this(mind you I don't even have my pic up yet) I get this super hot chick from LA hit me up. Instant messaged me asked if I wanted to chat and so 4 or 5 lines into this conversation she ask's me to follow this link she pasted. I go to it and it's this webcam crap where they want my credit card info to sign up and she's telling me it's free! hahahahaa Well I told her sorry I wont pay to watch her and she quits talking to me. Next after I sent out about 5 or 6 messages I get and email on there from this chick in Dallas tellin me she thinks I'm sexy(now my pic was there so I wasn't too sure ) and hopes to talk to me soon. While I'm reading that message she IM's me and I accept I was like "you're really sexy but too far" she then goes on about how she's in my city and wants to have some fun tonight. Then she asks me if I'll make a deal with her I said "sure, why not" she tells me that "the deal is this, you're gonna come over tonight and hang out with me" I said sweet! she then said "all you have to do is vote for me" . gives me a link and boom same old cam site..... STAY AWAY FROM FLING.COM

WARNING WARNING WARNING: Fling.com is little more than webcam girls, escorts, Russian girls looking for easy money and other liars. Stay away. I haven't met ONE SINGLE REAL PERSON in the month I've had it. Spammer abound. Please don't spend your money. If you want webcammers you can get them on craigslist for free.

I am so frustrated that no one else seems to realize this.

Fling.com is definitely 99% scam with hookers and the "come join this better site where I have all my pics and phone number" I canceled my trial membership on the second day.

its not just fling, amatuer match has the same thing,, no one replies,, and when they do its a canned response,, i was there a month,, got 6 hits every day,, i have NEVER had a problem getting women,,im tall, sexy got money and still,, these sites promise you much and offer you little,,,, the couple gals that i did contact are pros,,, be careful on AMATUERMATCH, fellas,, dont spend your money,,, go to the bar and cut the fat one out of the herd,, youll be wayyy better off i wish i could make every guy see that if we werent so set on findin the pretty ones we would notice the gal at minimart,,,who will bang yur socks off and be glad to have ya,,, c`mon guys,, you know im right beddytear,, ps,, there are ladies who just want to be told how pretty they are,, even the fat ones like to hear that,,,,

this is partially true. i signed up for a free 3 day trial.. and met about 50 spam/cam girls trying to scam me out of my money.. but i did meet one girl from my area that is my age (20) and we've been talking on the phone and everything. . . . comes to find out she just wants friends with benefits.. so we meet up and i get some poon every now and then. thanks fling for the poon. but.. its was hard to find a real girl.. i will agree to that

Don't worry I also tried fling because it was all over the place....From the women I messaged I got 3 responses with the same email.......what a scam......I will never try another site again.....Also I didn't know recognizable pornstars like Isabella Soprano lived in my zip code....God...I'm so pissed

You would get emails from the same email adresses if you were to send messages to 100 girls as the profiles are just filler profiles to suggest the site is populated, it is a widely used tactic. You can actually purchase profile bundles to populate your dating sites.

If you find sites such as these you know nothing good will become of spending your valuble time there. Many people see this for what it is, it's a shame you don't see posts like this more often in order to protect the paying people "mostly singles" who actually believe in these sites. They actually have no idea that they are being played, and played for one thing, THIER MONEY.
Nice to see that others see it for what it really is, people creating websites supporting porn and using whatever means possible to expose it. I have gone through many dating sites or rather "sites that say that they are dating sites", to later on find out that for the most part they are all the same. WHERE ARE THE REAL DATING SITES!.

Realize that you are not the only one that is frustrated as for the most part people use these sites "for lack of better terms" scams in disguise, to promote some sort of crap that they wish to make money on. Or, they permit people to use them for thier own gains, other than for the purpose that these sites were created for.
Please note there are people out there that really are looking to meet that special someone and do not want to spend thier valuable time figuring out the difference between the crap, and the real CRAP! Currently I only have my real profile posted on one website, the Singles Registrar hopefully this site can get it right! ...

Hahah! I signed up for the 9.95 trial and was charged ANOTHER 9.75 ontop of that because I failed to see an auto-checked box...stupid me. Within minutes of being an active member fraudulent scammers began to contact me. I was very flattered that Wifey, Isabella Soprano, Melissa Midwest all wanted to get in touch with little old me...this site is BOGUS!

Look at "It's Just Lunch." They receive SCATHING reviews. Franchised all over, yet ALL of the complaints, male or female, seem to give the SAME complaints. They don't even try to match you up right. Any dating site that wants to improve could do the same work that you did to discover the bogas info. In fact, a computer program could do that checking every time a new member is added. There's $$$ to be made for the one who writes this program.

I am going to come out and just say it... I work for Fling and Global Personals. These posts are from 2007 mostly and this was at a time where internet scammers were allowed to run rampant. Online dating was new and Fling and even their competitors did not have systems in place to fight off the multi-million scam and fraud industry. This has all since changed. Global Personals has one of the top scam and fraud prevention systems in place.

All fake profiles were setup by scammers and the same with those seemingly automated messages. If you were to try the site today you will find a much different experience one that current users rave about in the forums. It is true there will always be more complaints than positive we all seem to neglect he positive in our lives not just with dating. Don't believe the hype. We all like to hear a good conspiracy but the truth is that comparing online dating from two years or even a year ago to today is a whole different ball game. Fling and the like are pioneers in this industry and this is why the remain to this day some of the top sites on the planet.

To be honest and fair if you look at the number of complaints filed compared to the number of satisfied paying customers we are talking less than 100th of a percent. THAT IS A FACT.

You can say that things have gotten better, well what about this: Amateurmatch states in the terms that they have people that work for them called "Online Cupids" or OC's. These people either pose as members or are members that for whatever reason contact other members to, as the management calls it "stimulate the interest in the website" there by getting the "stimulated member" to continue paying monthly fees. But heres the kicker, The terms also express that under no circumstances will you ever make contact physically with an OC, No exceptions! How many members do you think would still be stimulated if they were aware of this up front......

The answer to this is so simple: dating sites, especially those that exist to assist you in finding a hook up for sex, understand something the users refuse to admit to themselves: the reason they are having trouble getting dates and getting laid is that they are losers. The guys are looking for some easy nooky, the gals are looking for Mr. Perfect, and neither are able to make that happen in the real world. Naturally, there are thousands entrepreneurial souls out there who are more than willing to separate the desperate from their money. It shouldn't take more that three functioning brain cells to figure out that a web site to get you hooked up with some hottie for a quick romp or even the perfect mate is nothing more than a scam. Forget on-line dating sites. Even the legitimate ones aren't worth the incredible amount of time and effort needed to find someone compatible. That energy would be better spent getting out in the real world and looking for love and sex in the old fashioned way. It's more fun, too. More importantly the failure rate for relationships that are the result of on-line dating sites is many times higher than those that began traditionally. That's because on-line is not real and the prople participating in this activity don't have realistic expectations.
