Wow! Just had my interview with IJL rep today and told her that I wanted to hold off for a few weeks until Thanksgiving was over. I hate the online process but after reading these reviews, it's clear that IJL isn't to be trusted. The rep pushed me to "expand" my search criteria, said she had a "doctor" who had just gone off the market - darn!, and that I should try the OC or LAX area in addition to the Fresno area to broaden my matches. After talking to her about their process - she said they screen each candidate carefully, blah blah blah, I asked if they do anything more than what they had done with me - a 15 minute phone interview - and how did they know that the men were actually single, who they said they were, etc - and she said they do a "in-depth" phone interview and an "in-person" interview. She has never suggested doing an in-person interview with me, so...you do the math. This seems like a scam now that I've looked more into it.

It is an unquestionable scam. I don't know how these people can sleep at night knowing how many people they have bilked out of significant sums of money. This service is a sham - preying on innocent people.

Just to give you more assurance that IJL is only out to "scam" people out of money, I was set up with a date who was still "married" - not even divorced. What kind of screening is that?

I had the same experience. I very clearly specified that I did not want to date anyone who is still married (eg separated). Date #2 -- the guy was recently separated. My experience so far with this service has been very poor.
