No perfect body so boyfriend angry

I am pretty upset right now. I have been dating this guy for 6 months. He is very motivated and high strung. If he is not working out, he is playing hockey or actually at work.
Since we have been dating he has encouraged me to work out with him and to lose a bit of weight. I am by no means fat but if I am being honest with myself I could lose about 5 pounds. So, I dove right in and started working out. I went from being extremely exhausted after 30 minutes of cardo to feeling great. I now do 4 sets of setup’s at 20 reps each and a number of other strengthening routines. I have yet to achieve a flat stomach with abs but I am getting close.
Before my boyfriend went away on a 3 week business trip he told me if he doesn’t see an improvement when he gets back that he will be angry. This made me very sad and I cried after I got off the phone. I only started working out 8 weeks ago and I don’t think he appreciates what I am doing. I am working out 3 times a week but it does take time to see improvements.
The rest of our life together is really good and I do love him but after our last conversation I do not know what to do. Is there anyone on this forum that has a suggestion?

Sweety, I work out every day and still hate parts of my body, I'm pretty sure everybody feels like that from day to day! Your guy sounds like he has a big ego problem, if he loves you he wouldn't change things about you unless he knows it would truely benefit YOU. You should talk to him about how you feel, if he's negative toward you take some time out and state the facts, think about the negatives and positives of being in a relationship with a guy who has a fat ego. You don't need some guy telling you how you should look or what you should do about your body, be who the HELL you want to be, love and respect your body, love who you are as a person! That goes for guys too! Don't let a woman change who you are if you don't feel right or happy about it, because if it doesn't feel right, it most certainly isn't.

I'm not sure of your age group but I've found that older guys are unrealistic in their expectations of females in the same age group. I know this is very broad, but in my experience they are also just as unrealistic in the way they perceive their own image, being they think they are in better shape than they actually are. How many guys say their body type is athletic or average when it is far from the truth. Before all you guys out there get on your soap box, I know many women do the same. My advice is to be true to yourself in your profile and if you meet someone who then picks your physical flaws, ( because they are the perfect 50 year old Adonis of course), you're not a heartfelt match.

I've dated someone just like that. He's a controller. Dump him now before he takes you over.
