Searching and Matching

Secret Benefits is all about searching for your matches and it does offer limited automated matching capabilities.

Searching

The core of what makes Secret Benefits work is searching for members. The layout works very well on both phone and laptop displays. On laptops, the multi-select search filters are in the left column (on phones you must tap on the filters to bring them up). The most important search attributes are listed first, including location and distance. You can also specify if profiles must contain verified photos and/or videos. Other popular search filters include age, ethnicity, and body type (from slim, fit, and all the way up to full-figured). In fact, most parts of the profile are searchable. Unfortunately, the only thing that is missing is keyword searches for the About You and About Me profile parts.

At the top of the screen, you will find what search filters you already have selected for your current search results. Tapping or clicking on these will remove the filter and expand your search results even more. Over on the right at the top of the screen, you have the search sort options which include Recently, Active, and Newest.

The main part of the screen is left for the actual search results. Matching members are displayed in a gallery/grid format of up to 4 columns across (depends on screen size and orientation). Each result includes the main profile photo along with the display name, age, location, and the tagline of the profile. It will also indicate if the profile has been verified, has been updated, is online, and new. Clicking/tapping on the photo will take you to the member's full profile, else you can tap the heart button to favorite the profile, or the message button to send the member a message. There is a Matches section of Secret Benefits. It is not based on automated matching, instead, it contains lists broken down into sections called Admirers and Favorites. Admirers contain lists of members who have favorited your profile and a separate list of those who have viewed your full profile. These 2 lists are an ideal place to check to find interested members who have a much higher chance of communicating with you since they have already viewed your profile and maybe even bookmarked it. The Favorites section contains a list of all members with whom you have favorited and a separate list of all full profiles you have viewed.
