I had so many issues with this company that I don't even know where to begin. Let's begin with the fact that I was verbally promised at least one date a month, prior to signing up. Complete lie. I also had to switch "specialists" because I could not reach her and she was rude when I did. And with my second "specialist", I just counted a minimum of 54 emails beginning in 12/2015, which resulted in only 1 date and all the others were cancellations. Oh, and the guy whom I went on the date with stated that he was a former client and IJL called HIM. To me, this (plus the inability to even find matches) leads me to believe that IJL did not have much of a pool of men to begin with in my area, yet led me to believe that there would be plenty of good options. This company is an awful racket and I can't imagine how they even manage to stay in business. You can only reach a manager if your "specialist" escalates an issue. What?!?! They never answer their phone. I was always connected to the voicemail and had to leave a message. Apparently it is acceptable for them to return communication within 24 hours. I waited several months at a time to receive a profile for a possible match, and then had to respond within a few days or otherwise my account was "put on hold." Oh, and if a profile was sent to me of any possible match by my "specialist", it was a strike against me if I didn't' think that they would be a compatible match. Sooooo in other words, the "specialist" can state that they used your listed criteria, matched you with a possible candidate and presented it via email, but if you disagree and would prefer not to meet that particular person, it would count towards one of your dates, even if you never go on a date. Perhaps the rules changed once I wanted nothing to do with their company, as they refused a refund but still promised me a couple of dates, but I found it still to be an awful business model. I would have been even more ticked off to have remained under contract and paid a ton of money with no dates to speak of. I could go on and on and on and on about my terrible experience with them. Perhaps they have better success in larger cities. Or perhaps their staff signs into these reviews to try to glamorize the business, who knows. But I will never, ever recommend nor encourage anyone to join IJL.
