Do any of you guys think that a totally free "adult dating" website could be successful?

Do you guys know of any free adult dating websites that are actually useful and work well?

I know they have to make some money some how. Advertising can be good, but Google will not allow adsense on websites with "adult" content. There does not seem to be many ( if any ) other easy-to-use ad services. At least none that seem to get as good of reviews as Google adsense.

And, keeping robots, prostitutes and other scammers out would be a challenge if it is free to sign up.

Maybe a community effort to rate or vote off questionable profiles?

I would love to hear any of your thoughts!

Ok, personally, I think this topic will go nowhere, but anyway… since lately I had some thoughts about it … but whatever I write below, actually pretty useless anyway, I think…

I have used online dating on and off for quite sometime, and have observed how online dating degraded into the almost totally time wasting activity… well, for guys anyway Basically, in a few words, regardless if it is paid or free site, mostly these days directly or indirectly they are all use “fakes” to make money one way or another, and maintain illusion of activities.
So, strictly speaking, the question now is if they are “pure scam sites”, that is they do not even bother to try to have real girls, or not… Those “scams” are most obvious these days … Others actually have some real girls, but ration of girls way not even close to be balanced and one way or another they still need to maintain an illusion that new female members register there. Obviously, because “new real girls” in your locality do not magically appear every week. You would check a few of them, and what then? You would also stop using the site.
Basically, even couple of sites I previously used with more or less good outcome in the past, now are “useless”, or close to it ).
During past year, my last iteration in online dating, it came to the point that as soon as my membership expires (well, I paid anyway), I am will not be coming back. In reality, despite of all difficulties, now it is again better to find someone via real life connections. Yes, I still managed to get an occasional date, but time spent online vs in real life, makes real life more attractive. In the past, online dating gave me access to the broader number of girls who at least potentially was interested. Now again, it looks, it became more reliable via people I know, clubs, etc… So this “attraction” point of online dating has gone. I do not even mention, that “scams”/”fakes”, etc… which is at least very annoying.

I do not think that in the current state online dating actually can be fixed. It is all became simply “money making machine” .

Until someone comes up with fundamentally new model, personally I think it will not work, and only will be “fed up” by “new bees”, who have not used it yet and fall into traps of advertisements

I agree with the the post prior to this one and would simply say that the the sites which have some material and are free is absolutely pointless to talk about as why would anyone spend time and money on making such a site. Moreover out of curiosity on such sites in some parts of the world because of rigid way of lives the target becomes soft enough for spammers.
