I got marriage after I turned 43 and I had sown my oates. So I was ready to settle down sith a woman that I thought I loved and loved me.
In the beginning I did love her but today there are too amny tempatiions, morals are ignored, vows trashed on whims, celebrity marriages of a day or even less than a day.
Marriage was crated thousands of years ago when the life expetnecy was short. Living to be 30 was old age.
Think about how amny times yo would have been left behind when your village moved because you nededed glasses. etc.
And there were not things like TV, movies, celebrity worship. Mostly it was just saying alive .
So after my brief marriage (and I will admit that I am bitter about it ending after one year. And its been over 6 years now and I still am angry). And emotionally unavaliable. Which is a big problem with my lack of dating success. Too much baggage.
And I have been to several 'professions' to solve this problem and it did not help.
But logically , I think death do us part is obsolete.
I do not beleive marriage can last.
I know of two happy marriages and people have told me these are not happy marriages but they stay together for religeous reasons for one and financial reason fo the other.
MAybe we should have renewable mariage contracts first suggest (that I know of) by the sci fi writer Robert Heinlein)
Maybe marriage Has outlived its usefulness.
