I have been to many sites and I have tried a bit since the dot.com bubble. So you could call me a veteran.. I have done research on online dating and behaviors and was going to write it as a master paper. But my life changed (and become an IT consultant) and here I am on 1 site..

I decided to try out the site after trying out true.com., singlesnet.com. and match.com (no luck but out of all of them, I liked true.com for some reason)

I tried it out for 1 month and the price of $24.95 seems a bit high but the interface seems to be decent and easy to read. They offered multiple packages (2 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year packages) but since I did not know them so well and sticked to the 1 month.

I got a lot of Wanting to meet request and couple of emails (but as I see it more and more that it were bots). I even reported a spammer on the site who would use the one-on-one chat (they could affiliated with mate1.com and the big conglomerate that runs adult sites, etc.) and I had to go to posting of the update (which they never send nor emailed me). After 1 month, I wanted to cancel. Of course, the email response were so slow and the phone number did not work. Add that Memorial Day was right in the middle of the month.

What I forgot was that they hide the automatic charge on your credit card. After the Memorial Day, I get a notification of charge and that I have to accept the charge to be agreed. I emailed them and stated that I do not want this and the site didn't provide any real connection. After another email, they threatened me that they will take all legal action if I demanded my credit card institution to deny that authorization of their charge. After the credit card transaction posted, I called my institution and stated that it is an unwanted transaction that I did not authorize it (of course, the site does not offer any opt out of auto charge and hide it in their fine print compare to singlesnet.com or true.com). After 1 week, they stated that if I do not allow the transaction to be approved that they will go to the credit bureau for collection delinquency.

After that 1 month service, I stopped using the service and have not logged in still. I still get those premium members wanting a meeting request and chat but I refuse to go in. At the end, I am fighting them to the end. After their threats, bots/spammers, and no connection for dating, I do not think the site will ever produce much nor will your money be well spent. Anyone had any issue..

The people who run the financial (and the whole site) was from friendjungle.com.. Again, they are out of UK it seems like and they are not in it for you.. They are in it for your money and the amount of threat and you have to wonder

If you whois candytwist you'll see it's run out of moscow and is totally a scam. I received a text message to my phone saying something like I want to meet you go to such and such site. When i did it rerouted to candytwist and immediately a bot popped up. Google candytwist.com and you'll see all sorts of people saying it is a scam, which it is. Definately.

I did... I do not doubt there are relations to Moscow.. What I do know is that the "Customer support" is based out of UK but the main operation is probably from Moscow

I'll agree to that. I created a free membership about three months ago with an online account that I rarely use. I had people interested about 1-2 a day for 3 months. Seemed odd since I did the most basic profile with no pictures. I was offered a free membership for 3 days. I figured it couldn't hurt. I found it more odd when I messaged someone that the few that responded were instantly right before I went to bed. I noticed the responses were often at like 3:45-8 a.m. I also wrote to a girl that I thought the site might be fishy and told her to email me at the account I don't often use (couldn't hurt since they already have my email from signing up.) I notice that the site makes such a point to advise against this...I don't think they want people to find out. The girl responded right away.. and didn't aknowledge my past email, and kept it incredibly generic. I tried with a few others to see what would happen and the same thing. There's obviously a few people paying.. so mabye a few of them are real I don't know...but I doubt it.

Needless to say that I'm not going to sign beyond the free trial, and offering the free trial might be the dumbest or smartest thing they could of done. It didn't work on me...I'm just upset to have my time wasted...oh well there's always tomorrow. I want to thank these posts too. I googled them and they confirmed what I was suspecting.

I smell a rat with this site too. Firstly I was amazed that I was not asked for any information to create a profile. I didn't put up a photo, so based on no information at all, other than my age, women were writing to me. I paid for one months membership, cancelled future payments immediately, and out of curiosity, replied to a woman who wanted to meet me. I received no further reply from her. I wrote to a second woman who had written to me, applying the "scammer test". Her reply was brief and meaningless. A third woman's reply was unintelligible, and I wondered if she had mistaken me for someone else.
I am sure that 2 other women had the same pictures up, claiming to be from cities 60 miles apart, but I think it was the same person.
Now that I have cancelled, I have received a reply from the second woman, with the hook from the site that she has written something juicy, along with 2 meeting requests, which I am sure are bogus, like this site, which I was invited to join by a young woman in the USA.

As to any website threatening action if you chargeback from your credit card, there is no lawful action they can possibly take except to sue you, in which case they would lose after spending a *censored*load of money on lawyers. They're just trying to intimidate you because that's all they can do. They're punks. They can't touch your credit rating either, but if they try you can sue the *censored* out of them. I've snatched my fees back from these sleazebags every time I found out that they were infested with scams. I got ALL my money back, as much as 6 months in some cases.

The most common scam is to offer the supposedly free trial of 3 days to a week or so, but they take your credit card info and will often ignore or pretend they never got your termination request, and you find yourself being charged behind your back. In one case they had a separate email system with which to cancel the "free" offer, and if you didn't message through that avenue they claimed you never cancelled. Doesn't matter, you tell your bank about it, they know all about these schemes, and they will get you your money. Screw these sleazebags

Absolutely a scam. I was sent a direct message from a follower on twitter to join there after we had a few dts. At the same time they removed (to that effect) their twitter account. I set up a profile and browsed the profiles and started noticing that although I was searching in the London area, a lot of the profiles appeared to allude to American terms and places. One girl from London apparently goes to the beach every day!

The common thread here is that these profiles all have a single pic of a really hot woman. You can send a message for free so I asked one of them where they were from. I received a response today but have to pay to be able to read it. Tempting isn't it. I'd say there are a lot of legitimate profiles there but this is a very poor practice to get people to join.

I want to thank all those who posted their complaints about the dating website known as candytwist. I like probably, most of you, were lured in this site by either a 3 day trial, an e-mail from a mysterious subscriber linking to candytwist, or just found the website out of curiosity and made a basic/free account and almost immediatley recieved and e-mail/flirt or gift which could only be viewed if you upgraded at a fee based subsription... I am very dissapointed having been involved with this website for the last three weeks, and having my desires toyed with. I was almost certain of a scam, when I started to get flirts from girls in my same time zone, checked the e-mail, and message time stamp was two hours ahead of time!!!
The next step for me is to cancel, and to deny payment through my bank. I suggest any of those who have either interest or are currect subscribers - end now, flee and forget about it!!!
