They really could mean a lot of things.

A dating profile is a fake when it is posted by someone with other intentions than trying to meet someone new to date.

I also consider a dating profile fake if the someone looking for a date posts a picture of someone else or the profile contains too much inaccurate information. In this aspect, one fake profile could be considered not a fake by someone else. As example I would let it slide if someone side their body type is slim when it may only be average. Everyone in my experience always has a few white lies or omissions (which actually can be worse).
