I have read women complaining about spelling when it comes to guys responding to a personal ad.
Using a spell checker or even a professional program like Word Perfect is no promise of a correctly spelled word. Example: Most of us middle aged guys never took typing in public school or college (I did in junior high which was unusual for a guy since it was just me and another one in a room full of girls (and the other guy was one of the 'bad boys' you women love so much).
Even so, I am not a good typist even with training and having to do a lot in the later years of my job before I retired. I tend to transpose words like 'is' and write 'si'. Both are legitimate words with completely different meanings.
Another example is I write wee instead of were most of the time. Again legit but different words.
So a spell chekcer is like the old computer saying garbage in, gargage out.
Second, Why is spelling a few words incorrectly such a big deal? If I met a nice, attractive woman with normal intelligence, I would not sit there grading her like a school teacher grading a student. I want a potential companion and could care less if she can spell 'cat'.
I suspect women who complain about something so trivial will always be alone. If something this minor bothers you about another person, what about snoring? That will actually mess up a person's health being kept awake at night by another person snoring the night away and you women snore. Now that is an area to complain about because it does effect relationships.
My advice is lighten up. There are plenty of chances to find that new person annoying.
