okay so idk if my app is cursed or what but bumble has been acting wild for like a week now. i’m not talking about matches, i’m talking about the actual chat part. like i’ll type a message, hit send, it LOOKS like it went thru, then i close the app n come back later and it’s just… gone?? like it never existed.

i thought maybe i was losing my mind or fat-fingering the delete button or smth but it’s happened like 5 times now and i’m over it. one guy even replied “??” cuz apparently he only got my second message and not the first one, which made me look like i was mid-conversation with a ghost lol.

i’ve tried all the basic stuff — force close, update, even logged out and back in. i’m on android btw if that matters. the weird part is i can STILL get messages fine, i just can’t trust that mine actually send?? it’s giving “glitchy ex who picks which texts to read” energy and i’m not here for it lmao.

is this happening to anyone else or is my phone trying to save me from dating again 😭 any fixes appreciated cuz this is embarrassing.

I ran into this a few months ago and it turned out not to be user error at all. On Android especially, Bumble can be pretty aggressive about background activity, which causes messages to look like they sent when they actually didn’t.

A few things worth checking: make sure Bumble isn’t restricted under battery optimization or background data settings. After one of the app updates, mine defaulted to “restricted” and messages would quietly fail. Also, if you’re switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data a lot, that can interrupt sending — I noticed messages were more reliable when I stayed on one connection.

It also helps to leave the app open for a moment after sending, just to confirm the message actually posts in the thread. I know that sounds obvious, but the app doesn’t always sync instantly.

thanks for the response, i just wanted to update bc i tried this and of course bumble said “no ❤️”

i checked battery optimization + background data and both were already allowed, turned them off/on again anyway just in case. also tried staying on wifi only and leaving the app open after sending like i was babysitting the message lol. still had one disappear last night 🙃

i even did the uninstall/reinstall (RIP my saved filters) and it worked for like a day and then went right back to being glitchy. so now i’m back to typing messages and immediately screenshotting them like a psycho in case they vanish again.

appreciate the help tho fr. at least i know i’m not losing my mind. if anyone has another fix pls share bc this is killing my already fragile dating app motivation 💀
