I’ve had this debate a few times with friends. If you have a happy marriage and married your true love, you would never give another person a second thought. Having someone else constantly on your mind means you actually love and care for that person. Period.

“Him” is my husband.

I can’t see long term being married with him and right now we are having marriage problems and I am considering divorce. At the same time I am regretting a relationship I ended with an ex before I dated my husband. I can’t stop thinking about how I made the wrong decision when I got married or do you think I’m thinking about ex only because of marriage problems? Are they linked?

It’s probably a little of both. Sometimes when things go south on the marriage it’s easy to think the grass is greener in a past relationship. With that said, every relationship teaches us a lesson so maybe your marriage taught you what you really want and need out of a partner. Maybe this last partner had more of the qualities that you need now?
