Do you talk politics with your boyfriend or girlfriend? If you don’t.. you should. It’s a good test of whether it will last for the long term. I’ve dated people that are so stupid and uninformed that I had to tell them who to vote for at election time. (one person didn’t even vote before I said….my god you have to).

If you can’t have an intelligent conversation with your better half, they aren’t your better half. Politics is the perfect subject to see if they know about current events, can talk with some intelligence, and you can have a healthy discussion. And they don’t even have to agree with you. Can they support an opposing argument?

Agree? If no, why?

I disagree. Don’t talk religion or politics with anyone. Keep your opinions to yourself and save yourself grief.

Lots of men talking about their women they they can’t talk to about intelligent topics. Same rings true for men. I won’t date stupid guys. That’s the first rule. Ask them a current events question and see what you get in return. Not much else matters if you can’t get through a basic conversation.
