It says it is free but when I created an account it asks me to pay to upgrade. What gives, is it free or not?

i think this site is free for some time like trail base and after some time then pay.

most are free to sign for a trial then they induce you with messages you cant read without handing over your card details AND THATS THE TRAP ,,

Jim is correct. You can create your profile and search for free and maybe favorite some matches but to message anyone requires you to pay.

Match also has a free trial which gives you access to everything but you are required to give your credit card details as it will automatically move you to a paid subscription after the trial unless you cancel the auto renewal first.

and they make cancellation as difficult as possible sometimes its impossible and thats another trap to hammer your cards for 6 months
