The free ones just really frustrate me. I send out 40 plus messages to women I think I will get along with plus that are attractive and I get like 3 responses that go appsolutely no where. In frustration I delete the app the next day.

Based on what my friends tell me I am about a 7 plus or minus. I read a blog article somewhere that had statistics on Tinder I think it was that like 10% of guys who are really good looking, think 9s or 10s, get over 95% of the right swipes from women. I am hoping paid dating sites like Match is different?

Okay if you work at it. Just don't take any of the responses you get, or lack there of personally.

I joined a number of sites for online dating both free and not and did it for about 4 years. I would get a date every once in a while (think every month or so), but nothing really fantastic. In the end though, I did end up meeting my wife who was on Match.

Women in my opinion have become everything they dislike in men. They are players, serial daters, and superficial at best. You will frequently see that men have to be X tall so that particular woman can wear her favorite heels.yeah no $hi+. Can you imagine a guy saying, Sorry your too tall or too short I cant date you?

I have frequently caught women trying to scam/play me where they have to see their Dad or some other BS excuse, only to bump into them on a date....and still have one set up with me the next day. Really slimy.

Unfortunately, in the dating world its a woman's world unless youre a TEN so get ready to get beat up. I would try Bumble and OKCupid for now. Dont answer a lot of questions on OKCupid for two reasons. It limits who you can see as they pick women based on that. And they sell the answers to third parties and I dont want to be part of someones experiment.

Try the free 7 day trial on Match starting on a Sunday. Set a reminder in your phone to cancel by Saturday. As the new kid on the block you'll get more hits and then theyll fizzle out. Also, dont let match scam you that after you cancel you have all sorts of hits. It is a SCAM....wait them out for 2-3 weeks if you want to go back and they will drop they price 30-50%.

PS PoF...plenty of fakes...dont bother...in the 5 years I have never had a date that panned out from there. And all the decent women are scammers or fakes trying to get your money.

I saw a article recently that said something to the effect that dating apps like Match and Tinder lower men's self-esteem.

To me this happens because of several issues. I've also read that the ratio of men to woman on a dating site is about 2 to 1. Men also overall tend to message more often than woman, so what woman there are end up inundated with all these mail messages, which causes them to only respond to a very low percentage, the ones they really like. This makes pretty much all men feel like something must be wrong with them. After all if you send out 50 messages and only get back one or two replies you would think the same thing. IMO the reality is of those 50 mail messages:

- At least 25 of those woman haven't even been back to check their profile in at least 2 weeks.

- 10 of those remaining 25 got so many texts or mail that they are overwhelmed and don't even read most of them.

- 5 of the last 15 just don't really care about online dating since they already found someone and never took down their profile,

- 4 of those remaining 10 check your profile out and see something they do not like, like your appearance, your location, you smoke, etc...

- 2 of 6 message you back

- and finally the remaining 4 just aren't physically attracted to you.

Because of the above break down what most men believe is 96% of the women are just not attracted to them. This is not statistically possible for the average looking male. This is because there are just as many average looking women as men... AND in the United States at least, there are more women than men.

PoF is one of the worst when it comes to that ratio. I have estimated it is more like 50 to 1. This is based on using the review feature with both men and women selected. I had to look through at least 50 guys pics to every girl. And then most of the girls pics were scammers using stolen pics to create phony profiles. I have yet to get a decent date out of PoF. Im 5'10" in shape (I teach martial arts) and an engineer. So I have a good income. So overall I would be a 7-8 out of 10. Women I wouldnt spit across the street for will blow you off on PoF as they are under the impression that because they get 100 emails a day they are hot. They're not..guys have just gotten desperate.

Basically the best method I have seen is to rotate between the 4 big sites....match, tinder, okcupid, and bumble. Pick two and put in new photos. You'll be the new kid on the block and the first three days get a lot of hits. After about 2-3 weeks it will die down. Go to next two sites. Rinse wash repeat.

50 messages sent and 2 response, is actually not bad!

My ratio is much worse.

I have been using online dating apps for 8 months. I have sent countless messages. From this I have only gone out with 4 different women. With 1 of the women I did date her for over a month. If things had worked out I guess it would have been worth it but it did not.

With online dating on Match, Tinder or any other dating app you need a lot of patience. In total I have 6 apps on my phone. Half of them are paid dating services. I have spent hundreds of dollars over the last 8 months. I think I am about to give up with dating altogether.
