I had 2 people try to get me with this today but it’s really obvious what they are doing. Nobody is that pushy and desperate to video chat someone they don’t know unless something is going on.

I work for a law enforcement agency, a common denominator with online scammers that are not from the USA is the use of “hun,” or “dear.” Someone tried to scam me with this right now. I took a screenshot of the profile and of the website and reported it to POF. If you upgrade your account, you shouldn’t be entering your credit card on anything since this is a subscription based service.

I just had a guy send me a link to make phone call - it took me to another link that looked like POF official but when it asked for card I said he’ll no. Mind you, this was just for a phone call not video and there is a call option on POF account page (when you try it, POF gives a disconnect message which makes you think you might need to complete verification link - but then the credit card requirement comes up - wow!)

Kind during regular chats then wanted to call me to confirm I was “real” told me they confirm your age with the cc and it’s part of the process. Nope immediately blocked him.

Sorry, but you deserved to be scammed. How can you be so stupid to fall for this?? And giving your credit card like that… are you so desperate that you don’t think????
