I’m now getting emails and text messages from Themys and Dyke telling me to settle a £280 debt. Is this still a scare tactic? It’s working.

I know im rambling but please read and help me I dont know what to do

I have started to recieve letters from a debt collector (CMS) based in Germany stating that I owe £90+, I emailed c-date back in October 2022 to cancel my subscription but wasn't given a response. When they charged me again I blocked them through PayPal. I hadn't heard anything until just a few days ago (mid February 2023) where I was sent a letter stating this was my second letter and final warning. I never actually recieved a first letter just the second letter.

As of right now I have emailed the debt collector and c-date. I have told the debt collector that they are working with a fraudulent company that is stealing money. I also accused c-date of being fraudsters and that they will not be recieving any money from me.

A summary of what they responded with -

Debt collector: show us proof of termination and we will no longer make claims against you, it had to be done though their terms and conditions which is either email, fax or post. If not then pay up...
C-date: we are a legitimate business, transfer us what you owe and them we will cancel your membership...

The first email I sent (October 2022) c-date was a simple "hi I'd like to cancel my subscription" hoping they'd get back to me with the next steps which they didn't respond. I have now sent them both screenshots of many chats and forums of everyone having the same problem and told them that paying up isn't an option because of what many others have experienced after paying up first...

Now I dont know what to do, should I keep talking with them and try to find a way out or should I just completely ignore them and throw out all letters that they send me? Should I be worried about them taking legal action?

Bonjour

I also receiving these lawyer letters. Pretty sure it's a scare tactic and as they would have to take me to court in my own country they have no legal legs to stand on. But if someone legally minded wants to correct me please do. I feel fax only is not an appropriate method of cancellation and they are well aware of this, so this is their method of trying to extort money.

I'm also getting emails from Themys and Dykes lawyers because of a Dating site called Date my Age which I paid my subscription to. A year later and I am being threatened. I do not owe them money as I sent them numerous emails asking them to remove my details as I had met a scammer on that site.
I am based in South Africa.
I will ignore them until they take me to court in S A.
These are scammers working with saying sites. This was my first experience on a dating site and will be my last.

Have been receiving emails for around about a year and a half now from this company, claiming they are debt collectors for Dating Site called B 2.
After being on this site for a month, I cancelled my subscription deleted my profile, change my bank details, change my debit card information.
And then they started to email me, threatening legal action.
I have requested them to send this information via registered postal mail which they have stated they will not do. I have tried to make contact via their phone number which is disconnected. Have stated this looks like a fraud and scam.
Still, I receive stressful, messages, demanding payment.
I’m going to treat this as a hoax and not pay them. Hopefully other people don’t pay them either. This society is hard enough as it is without people trying to rip us off.
