I've used adultfriendfinder a few times over the last 5 or 6 years. It's been in spurts (no pun intended ) of a few months at at time and when I didn't have a girlfriend but wanted the perks of one.

It's a fun place for sure! Especially if you meet up with a few of the right people. Just like in real life you have to present yourself well on your profile on be outgoing in you communication.

I'm about to dive into it again since my girlfriend and I have broken up so I 'll let you all know how it goes this time around after a week or so.

Adult Friend Finder is the only one that has real members on it. Even us ladies on the other sites seem to get a huge amount of scam profiles sending us messages. You would think the much larger male to female ratio we would get messages from real members.

Man, I am just an average divorced guy in my 50s who belongs to the middle class.

Why is it so difficult to figure out which website to use for hookups? I hear so many scam stories and even this forum topic is back and fourth on if these type of websites are worth it.

I am close to joining adult friend finder but I keep second guessing myself. Are these hookup sites easy to cancel if it doesn't go your way?

I find hookup dating site leads to endless swiping, ghosting, and shallow conversations that rarely translate into real-life encounters.

IMO the effort-to-reward ratio feels skewed—too much time spent messaging with too little payoff. I found what should be a straightforward process becomes a frustrating loop of small talk that goes no where.

hey lol yeah i’ve used AFF a bunch and actually had some luck so thought i’d share a bit. tbh u gotta be patient, cuz there’s a lot of fakes and ppl who ghost fast. i made my profile super clear tho, like recent pics and a straight up “this is what i’m lookin for” line, and that actually helped filter ppl who weren’t on the same page.

i mostly messaged ppl who were active recently and looked real in their pics, u know not those super edited stock-looking ones. and when i msg’d ppl i tried to say somethin from their profile instead of just “hey” or some lame line lol, makes a big diff. also using the search filters helps, like narrowing by area and stuff so ur not wasting time on ppl who r nowhere near u or haven’t been online in weeks.

honestly u just gotta expect to sift through a lot of junk, even good matches will ghost sometimes, so dont get frustrated. treat it kinda like a numbers game, not magic. but if ur honest in ur profile and patient w/ messaging, there are ppl there who wanna actually meet up. i got a few IRL meetups outta it so it’s def possible.

I totally hear you, I think AFF is better than most of the other adult hookup sites, and yeah, I’ve definitely seen more real members there than random bots compared to the other junk I’ve tried. A lot of those other sites are straight up full of scummy accounts and dead profiles, so it’s great when you actually get legit replies.

That said, I still think it could be a lot better. Even on AFF I’ve run into tons of inactive accounts and people who don’t respond after a few messages. It’s not like you instantly get matched with someone who’s pumped to meet you, you still have to sort through a bunch of noise before finding someone who’s actually real and interested.

And imo some of the features are way too cluttered and confusing. it’d be awesome if they streamlined the ui and made it easier to find people near you that are actually active right now instead of tons of profiles that last logged in months ago.

yeah i kinda agree w/ this tbh 😅 AFF is def better than a lot of the straight-up scammy adult sites, like at least there are some real ppl on there. but man… u still gotta dig thru a LOT of junk.

i’ve seen real profiles + had a few normal convos, but also sooo many dead accounts and bot-y msgs 🙄 feels like half the time ur just filtering instead of actually chatting. not useless, just way more work than it should be.

basically: not total trash 👍 but could be way better lol 🤷‍♂️
