The woman of nearly 40 lonely Thai men’s dreams was arrested yesterday. Sadly, their dream girl wasn’t who they’d been led to believe, but a 35-year-old Nigerian man.

Known in his community as “Star Boy,” the scammer was arrested in Bangkok yesterday for targeting lonely Thai gents by pretending to be a beautiful American female soldier on Facebook.

Antonio Jose Carlos and his Thai girlfriend, 20-year-old Sukanya Sakaew, were caught at their apartment in the Chaengwattana area as a part of the government’s crackdown on foreign criminals. Police found six mobile phones and a few bank books at the apartment, which had a circulating fund of THB3 million (nearly US$92,000).

Police investigators said “Star Boy” was engaged in ongoing conversations with 38 middle-aged Thai men using a Facebook profile in which he presented himself as an American woman. It was unclear how much money he had managed to con out of them.

Follow-up investigations yesterday ultimately saw the arrests of five other members of the so-called Star Boy gang, all Nigerian nationals, Daily News reported.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachet Hakpan, deputy commander of the tourist police, said the scammers had played on their victims desperate need for romance and tricked them into transferring money to their bank accounts. Some had built social media profiles to give the appearance of a luxurious lifestyle, then asked victims to invest in a business with them.

Police have charged the suspects with fraud and putting false information into a computer system that causes damages to others. The investigation is ongoing.

This comes from a guy who has lost count of how many women I've pounded from online dating, so listen up. Your best -- no, your only option -- is to use legitimate dating sites. Not the hookup sites. List your intentions as long-term relationship, no matter how inaccurate that is. Have many good photos and write an interesting, grammatically correct profile. When texting with the woman, hint at your sex drive without overwhelming them with it. And no *censored* shots. The hints will screen out the prudes, while the nicely written profile will get you a higher caliber woman. Accept that forking out for that first date with no sex will likely be the price of getting regular sex down the road. Better than a membership with a fraud site. Wish I could give a clinic in this stuff. Good luck, gentlemen.

you just did lol

Singletons sign up to online dating sites in the hope of finding love, but they are increasingly being targeted by fraudsters.

Someone you have started to develop a relationship with online might first ask for money for travel costs, or say they have lost their plane ticket so need to borrow some cash for a new one. They might say a family member is ill and they need funds for urgent medical treatment.

According to recent figures, these requests for cash appear to be working. There were 651 dating scams reported in the three months to August this year, with the average victim paying out £9,589. In July, the average payout was as high as £10,882.

With one in four British adults using a dating website at some point in their life, according to Which?, users are being warned to be vigilant while online, particularly as the fraudster's tactics are becoming more elaborate.

Didn't read all the posts but thought I'd give my experience.
This is aimed for those in UK.
Pof. I'd send about 40 custom messages and get maybe about 10 replies. Out of those 10 about 4 would go on to meet.

Tinder. Have about 40 matches and about 10 would talk again about 4 to on to meet.

Other sites are far less successful. Many fakes.
But I've had more luck on those 2 sites than AFF and the others.

Heavily goes on looks.

If you got money then check out www.adultwork.com
By time you meet a woman and buy her meals and drinks etc it's probably just as cheap.

All sites are free. I don't recommend paying.

Yes. As a woman I used Adult Friend Finder for a year and a half. As with any site you have to have a good attitude and be willing to put time and effort in contacting people and yes there are many fake profiles. Anything that looks too good to be true probably is. Please keep in mind that the men out-number the females by a factor of 10. I am going to repeat the "good attitude" and "time and effort." All the men that I met and hooked up with 1) didn't assume that I was a fake profile and sent a nice first message-- not a flirt or one line and 2) had a complete profile themselves, with well-written paragraphs, pictures (body, face as well as equipment) and testimonials which AFF has and 3) were prompt about meeting, calling or video chatting with no run around.

don’t listen to her she fake like the site she is promoting see if she or he gets you to spend any thing which you have to. To send that message that she is talking about it’s all a scam.
