this sounds pretty suspicious... for the most part if it doesnt feel right in your gut.. then its probably not..
In regards to this case though, I would assume they would ask someone else for help with money, not some guy they just met.. that seems quite off ot me

DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT EVER give money to anyone that you do not personally know....there are enough credible helping agencies that you can give to if you want to give to charity....anyone online that ask for money is to be avoided at all costs.

I met a man who says he lives in Georgia, but had to go to Nigeria for an emergency. Also asked me for money. Suggested I go to my pastor to get it, which I refused to do. He also appeared to be a nice Christian man, but now I know otherwise.

I must have missed the auto renewal part of the sign up. I didn't use the site beyond the first three months that I signed up for, however I was charged two additonal times. I didn't keep using it because the matches were way off and many were scams. CM is the only site I done this with and I really wish I would have listened to my instincts. The ads once you get on there are hardly representative a Christian beliefs however I understand now that the owners also run other sites, sad really.

I was a christians mingle member for one day. I agree with the post about the scammers and the ringers. Within 5 minutes of joining I had nearly 10 hits all wanting to "get to know me better" but they wanted to do it on Yahoo msgr. If you ran their name on name search on CM, it cannot be found. I can't believe CM doesn't know this is happening. Match.com has the ringers too. Seems as though they want to operate a site, take the money but not be responsible or act in a responsible way. Also, had to do quite a bit of hunting to find out how to cancel the subscription to CM. And there is no refund. These guys must all follow the same business model...bait &I switch.

I find Christian sites have a few more scammers than your usual sites, probably because people figure that Christians are more likely to give money to "those in need" Watch out for the Nigerians and Ghana people who say they live in the U.S.A. and then tell you later they are not in the country -lol

There are going to be bad people no matter what site you go to... I was a memeber of CM for 1 1/2 years. I met a wonderful man. We married in 2006 and have been happily married since.....You just have to use common sense and good judgement.

Never bother with anyone from Ghana. They all have the same story that they lost a family member or two to an auto accident or plane crash and they send a picture of some super hot girl. This is always a scam I learned. The people arent even real because I caught them all in lies repeatedly. So.....let it be known....Ghana means Bolona !

I met someone on ChristianMingle, who pretented to be a god fearing man, who talked like a godly man, and even prayed with me on the phone. He said he lived in uk, and even has a uk email address and phone number. He said he is a window and his wife die 3 yrs ago and has a daughter who is 6yo. He sent me some photos of himself and his daughter; but now i know he probably just used other's photos.

After chatting with me on line and also on the phone for several weeks, he said he had a big contract in Malaysia and he believed it was a sign from God as he had never worked out of uk before. He said he would come to meet me once the project finished. Once he got to Malaysia, he gave me a Malaysia mobile number to call. About a week after he got here, he said he had cash flow problem as he never worked overseas before and miscalculated the budget. So he sent me a copy of his uk passport and also the contract, and asked to borrow money. Anyway, during the month he was there, he kept asking for more money; and i foolishly believed him.

He even prayed with me on the phone and said he knew God is with us and we need to trust God would see us through. He even told me he went to the local church and asked the pastor to pray for him and us etc. Anyway, there were other people involved. Someone even used May Bank's address to email me, even called me saying his client decided to realease the final payment to him so they need my account details. Only when they asked me to pay a conversation tax, i realised this was a scam.

The whole scam lasted more than two months and involved various people from Malaysia and uk. It has cost me dearly. But the whole scam is sofisicated and well planned. The man talked like a Christian and he definately knew the Christian language. So be aware of the wolf in sheep skin, who come to deceive the sisters in Christ.

I was also a member and have no complaints.
