I find it easier to use the free chat boards on some of the dating sites and dating webpages to get to know people. You can also check out how dating prospects interact with other people on the chats to see their character and if you want to actually meet them in person. With COVID, this has been my main source of dating— the private chat sites that are underground. Use a different screenname on the sites (per site so people can’t stalk you site to site) and you can safely explore them until you want to reveal who you actually are (in private chats or DMs) once you trust them. You don’t use an email address at all which is great. I had an ex find me on the sites early on and mess with me because he knew my screenname. Didnt make that mistake twice.

Come on people. Don’t be critical of these questions. We are all on the dating apps forum. Don’t throw rocks at glass houses or whatever it says. If she’s looking to hookup, this forum is pretty much the place to get advice.

My advice is also the “hidden” chat rooms on some of the dating sites. You can feel comfortable meeting people without putting your identity out there for your friends and family to Google and find you. Use a odd username that people can’t guess. My friend was on a “sex” forum and her sister found her and could read everything. That was a fun holiday dinner table.

First rule: DO NOT USE A USERNAME THE SAME AS YOUR EMAIL. Your exes will find you out in cyber land every time. Totally agree on the post above. Don’t be an idiot unless you want to be caught. That’s why I’m Dolphin2. Smile that’s not by real name. Hee hee.

Truth!! i know someone who got in a big mess and it is because of this exact thing I would be careful out there. being anonymous is really important with anythin related to being online. just pick a word or a phrase to be your username but not your real name or something people can recognize you for it's not smart. live and learn folks.
