Like internet dating, I'm assuming that there are 5 times as many guys reading this post than girls. I'm 46, average looking, good personality and I have to say that although it is really frustrating on all of these sites (especially the scammers like Date.com, DotMatch and Sea of Love) I have found pretty good success in the past couple years. I've talked to many girls that have profiles up and everyone of them (including the unattractive ones) tell me they get hundreds of replies from us guys and that they can't every read them all.....5 times as many guys than girls on the dating sites! The odds are stacked against us guys...girls have their pick! Like most posters, I only get a couple responses here and there. If you don't get responses, it's because the girls are going through the ones they want to contact first, then maybe the 200 Flirts or Icebreakers later. Although I'm in this for a LTR, I have had 3 "all nighters" this year and all from girls that contacted me first. So if you don't get contacted first, you might be SOL, that's where the Emailing every single match on your list comes in. It's a numbers game! If you are one of the unlucky ones (like me before) and fall for a fake email from a pretty girl and find out later that it was sent by a fake profile bot, don't be afraid to just reverse the credit card charges and contact the customer service lines and tell them You will report them to the Attorney General of your state for false and misleading advertising practices. You will at least get your money back! And never, never reply to a Nigerian...big mistake! Evil Anyway, good luck everyone!!! Mike In Cincy

My experience is just the opposite. I am female. Of about 100 letters I sent out on Match, less than 15 were answered. Half were "no thanks." Some conversations withered on the vine. About 7 men initiated contact with me. None of them interested me. I had a few dates, none of the men ever called back. They told me they get hundreds of contacts, can't keep up with them. But they are still on match looking to see if something better is going to come along. I know I am not undesirable. You need a strong stomach and can't let rejection get to you (easier said than done!). My experience shows me there are an order of magnitude more women looking for men than the other way around.

As a very shy guy, I have a hard time because most women expect the guy to initiate contact. Most of the ones that do are scammers.

If the guys have so much action, they probably don't live in Dallas, Texas. Probably an area that has an unuusally high percentage of females to males which is not the norm.
