I am not doing to well on Plenty of fish and was wondering if upgrading my membership is worth it...

It lists a bunch of things on the POF upgrade page you get on the site like Meet Me, Ultra Match, themes, and free gifts with emails.

I also notice it says "Check out the hottest girls in your area who respond to messages.". I am not sure how this would work?

Is all this stuff worth it for 6 months at $51 or is it a bunch of stuff I will not use?

I've been on POF for a while without much luck. I've never seen the need to upgrade on a free dating site.

I have had only so so success on POF where one date did result in me meeting and seeing a guy for a while. Most guys I have emailed on POF tended to be losers. If you upgrade you will probably just have more losers contacting you.

My 2 cents worth.

Right, and the people who use POF because they can't get a date otherwise aren't losers.

OP:

Use some sense. If you're not getting replies now, you won't be getting replies when you shamefully hand your cash over to POF for a few extra meaningless website toys.

POF and most of these dating sites don't work, because there are very few 'live', 'active' and 'legitimate' women on there compared to the inordinate amount of men.

Stay clear of these sites, mate. Up your game or pay for a hooker if you're just after a quick fling. Those are the best choices.

I agree it is a waste of money. Sure it would be nice to know when people have last logged in but I am not going to spend $15 per month on it.

You can do enough on pof that you do not need to pay for the upgrade.

If you have tried the site before and no dates are coming up, you’ll still not get any even if you started paying. Websites like that will make promises, but believe me, nothing happens.

plenty of fish is not a free site. It doesn't even mention it anymore at the top where it said it was 100% free dating.

You can barely use the site now for free. To many of the features that I use to rely on now require me to upgrade my account. I last used plenty of fish about 3 years ago and I didn't have to worry about this crap. I am angry that they want me to spend $10 a month so I can get shot down by women.

Bring back the free version of plenty of fish.

I agree! Bring back the free! I was getting plenty of attention on the site and I could look at their profile and communicate with them. But now I have to upgrade to even see their profiles and the scam part is that my responses/attention has gone through the roof since they started requesting money...
So they are rolling fake attention my way - it's obvious!
Fraud bastards.

PO is free. there is a site out there that is POF us which is not the real POF I had to turn them into paypal. to get refunded POF is just POF.com and not sure if upgrading does much.

Did anyone who replied actually upgrade or not? it seems to me, that is not the case!

I have been performing tests on POF for a few weeks.

results that i have found are:

this is for the men having problems. (that really want a relationship)

most women are picky with whom they will give their time to, especially on meeting a guy.

odds are you are texting wrong!!

Headline, make it important and interesting!

make your profile personal, different but be truthful, you don't want anything biteing you in the ass later on!
make yourself sound important and confidant! Interesting, mysterious.

be different, don't be the same guy they always talk to. go out of your comfort zone. try to RELATE to them!

first thing you need to do is find common ground.
if you are like most guys you post meaningless, shy 3-9 word introduction messages, and then follow up with, how is your day, what do you like....and so on.



You need to grab her attention, that way she will see your messages only, and frankly she could have 10 per minute on average, you want her to be interested in you alone, and she will be silent to all the others like I'm sure she is doing to you now.

step one: grab attention

step 2: make her smile,

Step 3: build a slight sexual tension...

say something that makes them think about you in an infatuating way. but nothing to strong. something like this, be creative:
“I don’t know who you’re boyfriend is…but he’s not spanking you enough!”. most girls will understand this is a joke! and that its playful but tasteful.

Step 4: Arrange a meetup, but in a casual way

" i think its time to put your money where your moth is!"

if upgrading puts you on the top of the list!
allows you to see when they are on!
allows you to see who wants to meet you!

id say that's all important!
you will fail!
you will get rejected,
And most of all you will get better each time!

trust me!

i was a PUA for 10 years.

i am still looking for my one and final!
90% more women basically attacked my profiles, that had i was wealthy, i was cocky, i am confident.
its shocking to hear but most women want a fling, and then want to decide if they want you for the long haul.
don't be surprised if you meet one and she wants to flirt or have you come over, when her profile clearly states the usual " i don't want a fling, not your thing on the side, i want something real" typical profile statement!

just be different guys, and yes, id say upgrading helps. my stuff always works, because i am an interesting unique guy!

and i try to keep them interested!


NOTE: if they are still talking for more than 4 days and won't meet!

or they are replying with 4 word replies all the time.

don't reply to you for long periods of time, and show online! they are talking to a more interesting guy, quit waisting your time and move on to another, wonder girl that gets you.

didnt say it was easy.

thing is flings are easier!
thats just how it is!

getting her to commit to you is tenfold!

it takes work.

you Want your name at the top!
you want to be able to message girls that think you are hot!

im just a random guy that simply has had success on POF in many ways, but i still havent found my one and only.

keep at it, and use every advantage!

Anyone man or woman who says they get numerous hits per day is lying ,or fake or its the company inserting those comments. It does NOT happen!!!! Most sites free or not have an abundance of fake profiles. They can manipulate and censor your profile so that they can mess with any communication to keep you on the line and bait you...ha ha hence Plenty of Fish.

It's good for a laugh and if your extremely lucky you might me 1 person.

Probably....but it won't matter if you're using the wrong bait. You need to bring your 'A' game to your profile....chicks read and you better be able to hold their attention or it's onto someone else....in a hurry. Most women love a guy who can make them laugh so rather than say something like "I'm funny" why not try saying something that IS funny so they can get into your head a bit. Could be a good joke or something that actually happened to you at some point.....unlike your pictures, the stories you tell don't have to be recent. Take your time in creating a profile.....the more you put into it the more results you'll see.

Also it should be noted that (at least where I live) POF and likely most dating sites are 7:1 ratio men to women......you read that right......seven guys for every girl. Do you see why it's so important to stand out immediately? My first attempts were pretty lame as I look back but I got creative about 2 years ago and noticed a significant increase in responses. I just met someone new so I'm off now but I thought I'd pass along a couple of tips that have proved to work for me and definitely would work for you too (as long as you're not a douche, that is).

* Keep it fresh - update your main picture every few weeks.....sometimes it just takes a simple camera angle to catch their attention....have a friend take a good picture of you having fun doing something you like.

* Use humour in your writing - If you're funny she is more likely to overlook that you're maybe not what she envisioned as her next boyfriend but you need to know that Most women are nowhere near as superficial as guys when it comes to looks.

* Take a few days to write a really good profile about yourself and be bold in telling these gals what it is You are looking for in your mate as well. Be honest, up front and the mail you get will be solid....you do not want to waste your time on a pile of first meetings (I say this from experience) as they are very time consuming and sometimes can be quite expensive too.

There's much more but believe me this is going to give you a very good start....now get to your keyboards and write about yourself and please use spell check if you're not sure.....no girl wants a dummy.....just sayin'.

I did match.com about 6 years ago and met more women. I figured I more than likely will not see these women so I wrote 20 of them who appeared attractive. I have been on plenty of fish for a little over a week and heard back from one person. I am not a model by any means, but have played sports all of my life and have about 15% body fat and would consider myself somewhat attractive. I also have a 4 year degree and make decent money. Either these girls expect someone or something that does not exist or they need a reality check.
I am sorry no one is perfect and relationships take work from both parties. If you typically have someone with all the looks they are narcissistic or have other issues going on. I did match.com about 6 years ago and met more women. The first one, her photos had to be about 5 years old and over 100lbs lighter. The second was really pretty, but was still dealing with issues from her ex and the 3rd did not follow through with what she said. I think it is a risk no matter what, if you ask me.

not worth the upgrade. heres what you should do on pof: message people you're interested in from the nearby user list when they appear as"online". if there not online its less likely theyll see it or feel like responding. yes its random, no you wont get a lot of replies(1/10 is above avg. success rate) but if you do enough you will get a few.

never had any luck on POF the filters mean your messages will likely never get read and get binned unread .
i doubt if George Clooney could get laid on POF as the age filters would block him meeting a babe

several years ago i had a quick trial on POF and soon got a reply of not bad looking woman ,when i met her she looked suspiciously older than the photo . she confessed to being 75 although her profile said 45 years ,so what happened to the other 30 years ? she kept saying ' i dont look it do i ' ?

Hi! I have been very lucky on POF. I met some women, but lots of them are too negative about relationships, others just want to have fun,... I had 2 relationships one for 2 years and the other one for 3 and a half years. Very nice girls. POF is real life, just make sure you mean what you say, don't rush if you want to find a good woman. I have 2 friends I introduced them to POF already married with children to someone they met on POF. If further help is needed let me know. Good luck.

Yeah it's all bs now that they started to make you pay for evverything there's less active people so the chances of a legitimate relationship is of a lower possibility as well. I feel like an idiot wasting my money on this crap.

for all the people saying you need membership or the site is face ive meet serval girls online they were all real! i dont have membership so i cant say if its better it would probably make things easier tho by giving you more info about people viewing you ect. the site is full of girls but many of them are either whore or uptight and wont reply ive used the site for hook ups and have had a few relationships. the trick is to view as many accounts you can even message but if a girl see you saw them then she will look at you when she does ask her whats up if your half decent looking youll start talking. whatever you do dont fall in love instantly or ask for sex take your time its not hard just be funny and outgoing keep the conversation alive ect

i have just done another batch of contacts on POF and not one reply ,so i must assume they are dormant accounts as nobody exists on thse profiles to even reply or respond , chose accross a range of profiles and expected just 1 miserable reply ,but zilch ,yet out on the town for a beer usually get some contact in person..
is this a black hole of non females in their own bubble from reality ?
ihave to assume the worst so dont do any upgrading with fees paid out

I used it for a while but like the other big one (match) its the same old thing, not worth upgrading membership all you're likely to receive is more random matches sent to you.

New site out thats so far turning out to be better for me, looks nicer - since its new I'm in touch with more people, they also give you tickets, trips etc to help with dates check it out whenifoundyou.com seems to be growing quickly

They will rip you off by flashing pictures of fake people. Then you get excited pay them $30 and then nothing. So if you like giving $30 away for nothing - go for it. I hate this company! They are a RIP!

In 2017 2018 I had good success with pof. I met several nice ladies and always got responses but not these days. Site isn't as active as it used to be...not as many women .. Maybe FB dating took over ??
