Someone wrote on this site under a post to my thread that match.com did buy plenty of fish recently .
yet there is NO mention onywhere on the interent that this happened.
And POF makes its money advertsisng paid date site like match.
So is it true about pof sold?
I hope so. Maybe POF will clean up its act but i doubt it.
And WHY would a paid site like match buy a free site unless it wanted its member dat base. But then match would have to go free or pof would have to become a paid site.
Otherwise, match is throwing money away-like i care

No Match.com did not buy Plenty of Fish. There would be a flurry of press releases if they did.
Markus has plans for POF and I would doubt if he will ever sell (unless the price is right).

Thanks for the info
I really did not think Marcus would sell that money press. I don't see how he does it.
but i agree that it would be all over the net if he did sell. And i was hoping he dids ell
I would like to see all date site either paid with lots of member snd few date sites to chosse from. There are too many sites with 5 old ads of women in major towns on the net.
We need just one or two major sites and less confusion.
I have said it a million times-PRINT personal ads worked , and they wee a LOT simpler to use and I never ran into fake women pretending to be men.
What are markus' plans for POF?

I am not being nosey but i DO have a deep dislike in POF. I have wasted years of my life thinking that this site would get better as it matured.
It has gotten WORSE.
Marcus is arrogant. His moderators are a bunch of apes.
All mambers are rude.
And I KNOW how to write a good ad and yet no dates.
I was very successful when print ads were around and used them for 20 years
So it is NOT me . POF is just a waste of time
BUT I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT MARCUS' PLANS ARE.
I hope he makes it a pay only site to use.
Seems he is heading that way and that will be his undoing.
No one is paying to be a 'special member' or whatever he calls it.
And no one will pay to use hsi site.
I want to see POF die.

Like I said before, starting your own dating group for $48/3 mo. is definitely the way to go. Game players and trolls don't dare go to meetups... you can guess why.

And, by the way, Match.com I SERIOUSLY DOUBT would issue press releases on purchasing POF. Plenty of Fish (By design)--is to look, behave, etc. As a less than glamours--site than the others.
Someone like Match.com would purchase POF purely for Strategic reasons (vs adding to "bottom line growth"

reasons--certainly not a Talent Pool of Individuals
