I have been a member of both for a long time 9long enough to give an honest review).

Short answer-they both stink.

The long answer and there will be misspelled words so over look this.

POF is so automated that there is no phone contact number . This is a BAD sign. The sites I have thought about odering products on line and those that I have ordered that did not have a contact number but only an e mail adress where always a disaster.

POF censors posts in their forums that do not fit the group's mindset. That includes legit questions about why are things done this way. You get this automated messsage saying 'vote to delet this thread'.
POF is more about making cyber friends than real life meeting. People state that they make lots of friends omn POF. They are all cyber friends and cyber friends are not the same as REAL friends.
POF is the meanest spirirted date board I have eno*censored*ered. The women are extremely hostile if you go against their feminist mindset and a lot of the men side with the women in hopes of geting on their good sie (perhaps maybe get a date?).

POF states it is a one man show run out of an apartment in Canada and seems proud of this fact.

That is the PROBLEM. The person who wons this site is not a professional and NEEDS employees.

There are other problems but two other things. you get what you pay for-you pay nothing and get nothing0except rudeness and wasted time.

Second, POF DOES waste your time and gets your hopes up. I have written dozens of profiles over the two years I was a member. I even changed my useer name a couple of times to start over since anytime you post on a forum, it automatically appears under your profile which is another problem. Your forum views and dating profile should remain seperate.

Now match.com

I see that they have actually increased their membership fee and have all sorts of costly add ons that were once free like 'did someone read my mail".

Match DOES have a live staff with a phone number but it's hours were 8-5 m-f only. I think that has now changed but i am not sure.

Like POF, match seems to have the same type of women 9and probably men). All the women 'love to laugh or have fun 'in their head lines. Not very orginal and who does not want to have fun?

Most on match have kids living at home which can be a plus or minus.

Members on match do not seem that interested in actual meeting even though they are paying to respond.

Match also censors profiles which POF does not. I have had very innocent profiles not published until I called which tooks days out of my membership and the person at match agreed that there was nothing wrong with my profile since like POF, I constantly change my profile if the one I am using is not working 9which is all the time).

I will sum up both sites like a bar. You have your regular customers that everyone knows and ignores. And you get the occassional new face that people pounce on in hopes of connecting. And you have about asw much luck as a bar.

I am sure the other dating sites are pretty much the same.

One last thing. If you are willing to settle for a woman that is not atttractive, fat and basically one that no one wants, you might actually get some interest. But I can get tha in the real world.

So forget about the women who are in their 40's & 50's and still are attractive. They are the arm charm and they know it.
