Wanted to share my honest experience with Best dates so far. Most reviews I've read online lean pretty strongly one way or the other and mine sits somewhere in the middle, so figured it was worth writing out.
Signed up a couple weeks back. Login and profile setup were fine. The trouble started about a week in, I wrote a longer message to somebody, hit send, and it just stayed there on "sending." Refreshed the page and the whole message was gone. Retyped it, same thing again. Turned out to be my browser's cache of all things. Cleared it, worked fine after. Annoying obviously but not a dealbreaker.
What kept me on the site was one conversation from around the same week. A man around my age, retired firefighter. We somehow got onto the topic of thunderstorms and how neither of us can actually sleep during them despite everybody saying they're supposed to be calming. That one detail turned into a two-hour back-and-forth about small childhood anxieties nobody in our lives has ever really taken seriously. I was still thinking about it after I closed the tab, which doesn't happen much for me on a dating site if I'm being real about it.
So yeah. Some technical wrinkles here and there. But the conversations are the reason i keep signing back in.
Anybody else run into the "send but doesnt actually send" thing or was that just me and my ancient browser?

Funny enough

I had the exact same sent but didn't actually send issue on Bestdates a couple of weeks ago. Other than that, though it's been a solid app, lots of active users no obvious bots and nothing sketchy so far. I'd say it's definitely worth trying especially compared to the last dating app I was on.

The point about still thinking about the conversation after closing the tab hit for me, thats really the whole metric for whether a dating site is doing anything worthwhile, more than any feature list a Bestdates review could put together. Signed up here myself a few weeks back after too much time on sites that failed exactly that test. Login was fine, profile setup easy, and Ive had two nice chats there

honest Bestdates review from me- signed up a couple weeks ago, no red flags yet. some chats go nowhere and some go somewhere, which is how it goes. worth signing up if you're on the fence

Havent hit the sending glitch on my end, probably a cache thing like you said. Only thing that bugs me about Bestdates is theres no actual app and everything runs through the browser. Works fine, just would prefer a proper app in 2026.
