I’ve been on eHarmony for a while now, and overall I really do like it. Compared to other apps I’ve tried, the people here tend to be more serious and respectful, which is exactly what I’m looking for at this stage of life. I’ve had some genuinely good conversations and even a couple of nice coffee dates, so I don’t feel like my time has been wasted.
That said, I’m running into a frustrating issue with messaging. I’ll match with someone, we’ll exchange a few thoughtful messages, and then the conversation just… stalls. It doesn’t feel like ghosting so much as the system slowing things down. Sometimes I won’t get notified of a reply until a day later, and by then the momentum is gone. I’ve double-checked my settings and email notifications, but it still feels hit or miss. I’m curious if other long-time users have noticed this, or if there’s a setting I’m overlooking. I like eHarmony and want to stick with it, but I’m hoping there’s a way to make conversations flow a little more naturally.

Totally agree with you, this conversation stall thing on eHarmony is a real problem, not just in your head. I’ve definitely had matches go well at first and then just… fade out, or replies show up hours later which totally kills any momentum. It’s super frustrating when you’re actually trying to have a thoughtful back-and-forth.

I’ve also noticed sometimes replies come super late or notifications don’t pop up until much later, so it feels like people just stopped talking when really it might be the app’s delivery/notification system messing things up. It makes it hard to keep the vibe going when you don’t even know if someone saw your message right away or not.
I’ve seen a lot of people online complaining about eHarmony’s messaging quirks and slow responses too, it’s not just us being impatient. It’s like the tech itself gets in the way of real conversation, which is exactly the opposite of what the site claims to be about.
So yeah, you’re not alone. I’m curious if anyone’s found any settings or tricks that actually help with this because just restarting the app hasn’t cut it for me either.
