Forum Subject: Why has my Anonymous Name changed for my Forum Posts?

All my posts have been made as an anonymous poster using the name Mr J Cash.

Today I see that the username on all those posts has changed to "KathleneDis". In fact, I see also see dozens of other posters who posted as anonymous, also had the user name changer to KathleneDis.

So, who is this KathleneDis? And why has she stolen all these posts?

Just wondering.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Mr J Cash.

We had updated the code to the forum which introduced a bug. The bug happened when a regular user updated their username. When they did this instead of just updating their username in forum posts it updated everyone's name to the new name as well.

We have since fixed the bug and updated all forum post names back to the original name using a backup.

I also updated the forum topic subject to better reflect the issue.

As Ricky Ricardo would say... "Dat splains everyding!", or something like that.

It did make it a bit difficult to follow a thread when two, three, four, or more people were posting back and forth. It was hard to tell who was talking to who.

I'll bet that if KathleneDis checked her stats and saw a ton of those posts attributed to he she would have likely exclaimed WHAT THE *****?!??

No problem. Had another little user issue which affected regular users assigned to forum posts which is now also fixed.

I have done several tests now and hopefully there will not be any more problems. 🤞
