I recently signed up for Hinge after I learned that presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg met his husband on there.
Suffice to say, for me, it was a total nightmare.
I communicated with one guy who asked me for my regular number. I gave him it and he contacted me straight away.
His online name is Raymond and he has a 859 area code phone number.
Then a couple of weeks later I received a text message asking me for $50.
I would NEVER give a complete stranger money and I said no.
He then proceeded to text horrible names and cuss words at me.
He claimed his name is Raymond.
I notified support@Hinge to tell them what happened to me.
How this guy was asking me, a perfect stranger, whom he never met in person, for money.
$50 bucks to be exact. Raymond the scammer.
There are so many online scammers it's not even funny.
I hope that this is dealt with so it doesn't happen to others but I fear it will happen again, as the Internet is the wild west with no accountability.
I have since deleted my Hinge account and I will never use it again.
Most sincerely,
Robin
