I am a widow who started talking to someone on hangouts named Scott Moreau (fake name) around November, 2017. His story was he lives in upstate New York but was abroad for a job. He started out being very nice and full of flattering for me. He quoted religious texts. But after a few weeks of chatting he began to ask questions about my life, like where I live and how much money I have. I got suspicious and he then said his friend who he said is Bobbie Whenal (another fake I assume), could give me a personal reference on his character. He gave me her street address and phone number and she lives in Kentucky. Then he asked me to mail a money order to her address and she would deposit it in his account for him. He said he is in Ghana and it's easier for him to get the money through her because she has all his banking information. His profile picture was of a nice looking man but I submitted that picture on an image search and discovered he had been reported many times as a scammer. I told him about this and he strongly denied it and said someone had stolen his picture and he was trying to get the situation cleared up. I didn't trust him and I stopped talking him at once. He tried several times to get me to talk to him again and said I had broken his heart and I finally blocked him.
