Most dating site search features is not useful. The real criteria is how the site searches work and who you can message. A search result that I can't search by when the member was active or search results I am restricted from sending a message or contact to is useless. Searches that have parameters established by the site that I can't control are a problem such as POF. Restrictions on messaging those in my search results are also a problem such as POF and OKCupid. The devil with the dating sites is in the details of how they work and the restrictions they put on members. Also, many have inactive members that they still count as active members and show up in searches. Fact is, if you haven't been on the site in a year you probably aren't interested anymore.
