Watch out when you sign in...

They do not let you explain who you are, they vet your description and change it to what they want..
THey cut your photos... they cut your text...
More importantly: Even if your subscription runs out they still want you to pay.. although you have access to no services. Then they threathen you with prosecution.
Elite Singles is a big scam!! Be ware!

Totally agree they stopped my access near the renewel date then took the money for a year, I contacted them wanting my money back explaining I don't need or want to be a member anymore but they weren't interested and refused to refund my money.

Completely agree. EVERY profile I got a message from was deleted after they sent me a message, and they reported to me was "fake". Really? Every one huh? Then refund my money. I live in NYC. 8.1 million people. Over 10 million in a 50 mile radius. And you can't find me matches?

Elite Singles is such a SCAM.
I believe many of the profiles are created by the company. My advice is to RUN...FAST!! If you are gonna invest in an online dating site.... do not choose this I've. Six months of this ..... I am 100% sure it's a SCAM.

I joined Elitesingles when I tried to cancel I received a demand from a German legal company for 406.40 Euros
Cant log on and can’t quit the site either no wonder they boast 1.8m users, I was on it for over a year and didn’t get one positive match, updated and changed personally details and photos several times.
Bets save your money and try one of the other more reputable ones.

I am so glad that I put in a search for "Elite Singles review". I got a bad feeling when I read the part of the agreement regarding payment. It sounded shady and I decided to investigate.

I am sorry that you all had these bad experiences but I really appreciate that you shared them here.

I have recently returned to NZ from temporary work contracts in the U.K. After spending hours registering a new profile I received an email from Customer Care a few days later saying their security checks show it 'appears' I am located in the U.K. and consequently they have removed my profile. I challenged this saying their assumption was based on outdated information and they responded saying I need to join the UK site. I challenged again asking why should I join U.K. site when I'm now based in NZ!!! And why didn't they ask my circumstances first before abruptly removing my profile. No response nor apology for wasted effort in setting up my profile. Emailed again twice asking for evidence to support their security checks. Still no response. Completed customer care survey and no response. Exceptionally poor customer care!!!

Read their TOS. In it, you can actually go so far as to cancel your account and get a refund. The amount of hoops you have to jump through to enact this is insane though. Atleast, this was part of their TOS when I signed up long ago. I managed to cancel my account within a week and got a full refund. There was a stipulation in the TOS that only UK Residents could get a refund. I am a US citizen and still managed to get one : ).

They have not charged me since. They did not close my account either. They just made it a free account, taking away the sub.

As others have mentioned, in over 3 months every single messages I have received 10+ were deemed scam or fake by elite singles. Not one meaningful exchange in 3 month. A huge waste of time!

E-Harmony is the same; many fake members or trolls. Most of these dating sites have very long Terms of Service which most people can't be bothered to read. My advice is spend the extra time reviewing the contract before entering your credit card info. If you are good at navigating the websites however, you will find that you can turn off auto-renewal and also find instructions on how to cancel your account when your last payment has gone through.
I'm going back to meeting men the old-fashioned way, through friends or social groups that I've joined. :-)

Elite is not a real dating site. It is a scam to take your money. Not only will you not find someone to date, you won't even meet anyone online to chat with. Its bizarre, its as if its designed to insure you DONT ever communicate with anyone on the site. Perhaps they do this for a reason, so people don't start talking about the fact that its completely ineffectual and just a scam.

It is SCAM!!! I am so sorry I didn't do the research before.
I become a member in 07/01/2017
They don't have any member. They matched me with about 10 people in radius of 300 miles and I truly believe half of the profiles ere not real members.
They charged my card with 6 month $180 membership even if I give them approval only for 1 month.
I tried to contact their customers service, well they don't have any.
All what you can find about them is fax number in Germany. I tried to fax them, but the fax was not working.

I agree ....another scam. Elite Singles is Lifemates reinvention. Same company, different name. BEWARE!!! I paid big money for a lifetime membership. Six dates in four years ... they matched me with the opposite of what I explained in detail my ideal date would be.
They don't answer the phone. If you are lucky enough to leave a message, they don't respond. Their mailbox is full. It's a scam!!! Stay far away!!!

I tested it for 24 hours and their system simply won't give you the choice of "cancellation."
They posted instructions for initial cancellation within 3 days. I followed and hit upon a system block which doesn't allow for any cancellation.
It is a scam.
I called my credit card bank anyway.

I started reading these reviews to get a sense of how people have found the site. I'm quite shocked as having read the T&C's re cancellation I am not expecting any issues but clearly will find out. I haven't had any issues chatting to people and have exchanged mobiles to talk and had several dates...so I think there is hope out there. That said I'm sure all dating site have their issues and if we weren't all so busy we may chose not to use technology to try and find each other and second question if the 'human' at the other end is real...

Rolling Eyes
Wish I had read all these reviews before completing the long-winded application, which must have taken two hours. Fortunately, at least I read the reviews before providing my credit card info.
I'd be curious to know if they do anything with my data other than junk it for non-payment.
They did preview some "matches" for me but (with the greatest respect to the ladies involved) I find it hard to see how I, a writer, would have much in common with people who work in accounts departments.
Also, it's a fallacy to assume that education equates with knowledge and intelligence, and the site makes no effort to reflect this.

This is a terrible service. They call themselves 'Elite' but I have had better dating experiences with free apps like OKCupid. I logged off for a few months and when I logged back in, virtually the same men were on the site, which indicated that they didn't have a very high success rate in terms of matching people, despite the hoopla about 'matching' people. They now bill themselves as an escort service, which is not what I signed up to. Despite saying that you can cancel your renewal at any time up to 14 days of it being renewed, they did not honour this, and I have now had to hand it over to my bank to deal with. Save yourself the time and hassle as this is nothing other than an elite rip-off. If I could give it no stars I would. I'm also glad I've handed it over to my bank, and I suggest others do the same. This site should be run out of business.

I was sent an Elite Singles Mid Season Special. It was something like 9.+ per month for 6 months. A real deal, right? Wrong. After I put in all my credit card information the page after asked for the same information again only this time they rejected my address, so I couldn't really sign up. I checked my bank account immediately and found they had charged it the full price of 59.70. I'm not even sure this is Elite Singles and they have no say to contact them except by some comment section and who knows if I'll ever hear from them. I'd not ever, ever do business with this scam group again!

I tried posting this in the review section of EliteSingles on the Google play store but for some magical reason (hahaha!) They never posted it, surprise, surprise!!!

SO...Full disclosure, I never actually used the service, i became interested after reading the hundred of reviews poor older ladies that didn't seem to realize...yet....that they were full boar involved in a scam. It is beyond horrible and made me feel truly sad for them, simply trying to find love and here these pieces of *censored* are ready to abuse you because they know you'll give it up if they promise you love.....IT...IS...DESPICABLE!!!!

So, here it is:
And remember, this was meant to be posted, and then read by the people on the Google Play Store Review Section for EliteSingles.
(so you understand the context)

And go:

"I hate to say this but I believe you all are being SCAMMED.

More accurately, this service (EliteSingles) is using techniques that are VERY commonly used by scammers. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, PAY FOR THIS SERVICE!

I have learned all of this by simply reading your reviews and your first hand experiences, and to tell the truth, the evidence is shocking.

Here are some of the things they do, that scammers very often apply:

1. They show you tons of potential matches in your area and if you sign up, you can meet any of the people they show you. HOWEVER, then you sign up and NONE of those people are there and in fact, your area might have VERY few people available to meet! A fact they knowingly hid from you.

2. They are VERY obviously bolstering their member content by enticing you with FAKE profiles. These people don't actually exists, they are invented, they are there to be the ideal person (in your age range) that you would most likely want to meet. THIS IS THE #1 TACTIC USED BY SCAMMERS!

3. They make it incredibly difficult to cancel/get a refund/or change your account. You see it OVER & OVER in the comment section, people are having a terribly hard time cancelling. This is a HUGE RED FLAG, a reputable & trustworthy company would NEVER do this. As they know that it would bite them in the ass afterwards, via word of mouth!

4. #1 RED FLAG OF ALL TIME!
You have to PAY more and more for access that you thought you already paid for, scammer 101!!! You paid for a subscription...BUT NOW you have to pay to open messages people sent you?! This is a technique that has been used by internet scammers since the dawn of internet scamming haha it is the oldest trick in the book.

It's the old:
"OK, you are doing great! We wanna get you to the next level and we think you're ready!
In order to do that, we are going to need another installment of, $XXX.XX, to get you what you really need!"

5. This number is reserved for the countless other things that haven't yet been mentioned in the comments.
Let's put it this way:
"We have seen the smoke, now we know that there has to be a fire, we just haven't seen it yet!"
There is bound to be much, much more under the surface that needs to be investigated.

● So apart from the anger this instills in me, there is a bigger issue, and is the victims. The victims of this scam are the people we love most in this world, our Mothers/Fathers, Aunts/Uncles, and Grandparents. Who for one reason or another haven't found the right person yet and are looking for someone to share their life with, looking for someone to share their love with and maybe even FALL in love with!
They are purchasing this with the most innocent of reasons, they want to find love, at an age when they have their money, their job, their family but now they need someone to love again!

Scamming a person like that is downright DESPICABLE!!! Can you imagine your grandmother, in her house, trying to navigate the internet to find a nice older man spend her time with. She doesn't know the signs to look out for and this company is taking her for every red cent they can get their disgusting hands on. Yet there she is and she doesn't know what to do....she just wants a man to love again.

It makes me wanna scream, the level of depravity these people have!
Unforgivable!!!

So I downloaded this by accident while trying to download "Elite Music Pro".
However, then I started reading the reviews and MY GOD, I really do feel sorry for the poor people that have actually paid for this service.
I don't care if I never purchased the service, I can see when something is wrong and something is VERY wrong!

This information is VERY important and I thought you all should know this, BEFORE you purchase their service plan!

P.S. I encourage ALL of you who have been wronged and lied to, to report these scammers to the BBB!
(B.B.B. - Better Business Bureau)

I will forward everything I have found to the Internet Crimes Department.

However, it will take YOU, ON YOUR END, actually reporting it as well! What's happening here is wrong and we can change that!

I'm so sorry that so many of you have fallen victim, let's change that!!!

(Now they might not let this comment through, so I have copied and pasted it and will post it on the various different spots that it needs to be. Plus I have screen shotted your comments as well! So don't fear, the evidence is there!"

BTW, I know that was a lot.
But if it struck a chord with anyone and anyone wants to take action on these people I will help you, I think you ABSOLUTELY have a case, legally speaking. Especially with the fake profile aspect of it, they are absolutely, without a doubt, unequivocally guilty of creating fake accounts to lure customers in before leaving them high and dry.
In a desert of no profiles, and people way outside their age range, and physical geographical area! They outright LIED and therefore, you absolutely have a case!

If you can get 50-100 to sign on to a petition to sue these bastards, you can easily find a civil damages lawyer to take it on pro-bono, and ruin these bastards!!!

P.S.
By the way, a HELL of a lot more people that just 50-100 were tricked by these scam artists.

Their google play store says the app has over:

FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOWNLOADS!!!!
OVER.....500,000.....DOWNLOADS!!!!!

So, Put that into perspective for a moment, just HOW MANY victims are likely out there! It is staggering!!!!!!!

Follow this link, this is where we need to get everyone to go and find the section the best fits their situation.

I think the:

▪ "INTERNET EXTORTION" tab

Will be a very good place to start. By requiring people to "Pay to open messages" from prospective matches is absolutely wrong!!! You have already paid for a membership and then they hold your message hostage unless you pay.

They know that you can never make a match and that you can never find the love you want unless you open and read those messages...then replay to them and start a dialogue.

They are holding your messages hostage and will not release them unless you pay.

That is THE DEFINITION of Internet Extortion!!!

Oldest trick in the book, and they need to pay for this *censored*!!!

So this is a real good place to start!

So follow this link below and fill out the one that best applies to your situation, or even more than one! The more the better and we can get this tolling, for sure!

Either click on the link, or copy and then past it into your browser. It is the link for the:

"FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION-INTERNET CRIMES COMPLAINT CENTER-IC3"

The FBI's Internet Crime Division...

https://www.ic3.gov/crimeschemes.aspx#item-10

Good luck everyone, nobody deserves this, especially when they are looking for love!!!

Great Report.

I think it should be required by law that you have a working phone number, email address, and mailing address if you are allowed to charge money over the internet.

This wouldnt stop all these scum scammers, but it would help minimize it.

I frequently turn over info to the Attorney General of the state they are operating out of for fraud as they are required to investigate complaints filed with them.

Complete scam. Auto-renewal without any notice. Took £149 from my account as an auto renewal despite me writing to them that my circumstances had changes and did not want to renew. Completely disappointed.

Re: Elite Singles a big Scam

Posted on: 2018/12/08 10:38am
By: Anonymous

A compete scam with autorenewal - do not join EliteSingles! Note on trustpilot reviews gets 1/10 (compared to almost 7/10 for eharmony.

I joined EliteSingles hoping it would be selective enough for the type of partner I was looking for, but I found I was sent far too many matches that were not really that close to the parameters I set, and this appears to be a complaint for quite a few that joined EliteSingles.
I decided I would portably not apply for another subscription to keep account open when my 6 month subscription came to an end. But found I was tied, unknowingly, into an auto-renewal scheme. This is a well-hidden auto-renewal scam that is difficult to get out, and, in my view, a real con. In April 2018 I booked what was clear on the joining page – a 6 month subscription.
• There was nothing upfront and obvious to alert me that it was a continual membership on auto-renewal and not a 6 month subscription.
• Details were hidden deep in the small print of term conditions that most do not read.
• There were no reminders towards the end of my subscription that auto-renewal would be coming up should I wish continue (and, indeed, the choices for membership type for those who wished to continue) or to cancel.
Furthermore, auto-renewal tried to put me from the basic membership up to premiership and a payment of over £209 – a change I never agreed to! Luckily my bank alerted me to the suspect payment and I had it cancelled and blocked.
EliteSingles then contacted me by email - for the first time in regard to the membership - still asking for the payment. I explained I knew nothing about the auto-renewal and, since I had the authorized my bank to cancel the suspect payment after they alerted me, for EliteSingles to cancel my membership. Elite would not do this, stating I should have cancelled auto-renewal, and in at least 7 days in advance.
This a real scandal that I am contacting BBCwatchdog about. After all, after being contacted by the bank I immediately had the payment blocked when Elite tried to take out of my bank account - and surely most decent contracts should have a cooling off period after payment/agreement, to cancel if they wish. If EliteSingles was as good as it states in its promotions most would have found someone within 6 months – so why would most want to renew anyway? And for those that found someone and did not wish to continue, how many actually knew about the auto-renewal and the need to cancel 7 days in advance of the subscription ending!
I must thank my bank (Santander) to alerting me to the suspect payment. From reviews on the internet it looks like quite a few have been less lucky, with the payment going through for an auto-renewal they knew nothing about, and not being able to get the money back.
Rather than cancelling my renewal, when I cancelled the payment, as I requested, EliteSingles did not cancel, but blocked full access to any potential matches, until I paid, threatening me with a collection agency and legal action - for a renewal and suspect payment that I had cancelled immediately when contacted by my bank.
It has really annoyed and frustrated me for what is meant to be a social website bringing people together - and the auto-renewal scam also made me think of those less lucky than me. Those with little money to spare that joined EliteSingles to looking love after going through a painful separation or divorce, to have money basically stolen from them, and with an unhelpful and immoral approach from EliteSingles.
Looking at reviews on the internet, uk.trustpilot.com gives EliteSingles 2/10 in contrast to eharmony.com that gets almost 7/10. And when you look at the scores on trustpilot in more detail, and you take way those few that gave a high score for finding a partner, most others scored 1 with many of those wishing they could have put down a zero. The main reasons:
• Unsuitable matches.
• The hidden and immoral auto-renewal that is difficult to get out of.
• An auto-renewal that has to be cancelled at least 7 days before the initial subscription ends.
• A complete lack of understanding from EliteSingles.
I am waiting to see what happens for me (correspondence from EliteSingles has suddenly stopped) after I was lucky enough to cancel the auto-renewal payment when my bank alerted me to (correctly) a suspicious payment. I am hoping they have done the right thing.
That I was unaware of the auto-renewal and since I immediately stopped any payment going out of my account, to accept it meant I did not agree to any renewal after the 6 month subscription came to an end, and to terminate my membership, with no further requests for payment for an auto-renewal I never wanted or was aware of. I have also closed the account online with EliteSingles.

Agree with most of what is said here.
- Non-existent profiles designed to encourage you to subscribe that then mysteriously disappear once you have subscribed.
- Money taken off your card for the 2nd month when you are only 1/2 way into the first month.
- Aggressive money lender style tactics in dealing with their customers.
Avoid this company like the plague.

This site is a big web of scams. RUN dont join!!!!!
I joined for a 6 months period and "met" this man in my first day . He asked to speak to me off site and naive me said sure. I was here to date afterall !
This turned out to be a big mistake. He wooed me and told me everything i wanted to here for about 2 weeks. I was falling fir him. Up until one day he had a crisis where he worked and asked me to help him out with money!
When i refused he gor angry and threating. I then broke all contact with him. But the red flags were there. So i reversed searched his images and fiqured out this person was actaully a fake.
The photos actually belongs to a unsuspecting individual in America whos facebook site is unprotected and had no idea someone across the world was using his photos to scamm lonely woman.
Then i started thinking...how come he was such a good match for me? If he hardly knew me? He loved the same things as i did asif he knew everything about me....well he did . I then did a reverse number search on the phone number i had of him and guess who the phone was regsitered too? ....Graig Elite . (Really!l
So this dating site uses the site as a front to scam unsuspecting people not just out of subscription money but also using the confidential information to scam people into believing they are falling in love and then try and get money out of them. This web goes allot deaper than we think! This is scary stuff.

Very funny coming from an individual who can't even spell the word "beware"

Elite dating is a site for well educated professionals looking to connect with like minded people

Perhaps you might have better luck on the lower end dating sites?

This site is far from “Elite” 6 months wasted money
At 78$ a month for scammers and whoever the site just wants the money 6 months only 2 local people what kind of dumbass they think we are thinkin people would want to connect with someone in the middle of the country
It dose not keep your preferences it’s complete bulllcrao!!

I am new on the site but long enough to notice that it's a big scam! You get hundreds of winks but you get zero reply to your messages. You get tons of matches but then again none replied when you choose them. I am so frustrated i spent my money on this elite singles dating site.
