People Media (who is owned by Match Group) has decided to merge their two senior dating services into one. The services are SeniorPeopleMeet and OurTime. This process has been well on its way for a while now since both websites and apps were already the same (features, user interface, etc...) except for the name and color scheme.
When you visit SeniorPeopleMeet.com a message is now displayed explaining the merger. SeniorPeopleMeet user database which includes profiles, messages, and photos will all be transferred over to OurTime. SeniorPeopleMeet users just have to visit OurTime.com and use their existing SeniorPeopleMeet username and password to log in.
No mention of the iOS and Android SeniorPeopleMeet apps are mentioned but both have been removed from their respected app stores. It is assumed that your SeniorPeopleMeet app username and password will also work on the OurTime app. It is also assumed that SeniorPeopleMeet paid subscriptions have been transferred over and work on OurTime.
No official reason is given for combining the two dating services and closing SeniorPeopleMeet but, this will make it easier for People Media to market just one dating brand for older singles. While the name SeniorPeopleMeet explains exactly what the site is, the name OurTime does have an advantage of not reminding the users that they are older. Plus the term "Senior" usually indicates the age 65 and older, where as OurTime is for mature singles who are 50 plus. This gives the service a larger market.
