In just five years, Bumble has become a dominant voice in the digital space. The company expanded its initial dating-focused product to become a platform for meeting friends and a tool for business networking. Outside of the app, Bumble’s numerous ventures include a startup investment fund, entertainment industry initiatives, pop-up installations and brand partnerships. Bumble has proved it is one of the most ambitious leaders in the dating industry, so few fans - or detractors - will be surprised to hear the company has yet another launch on the horizon.

Bumble’s newest endeavor is Bumble Mag, a lifestyle publication created in partnership with Hearst Magazines’ branded content studio, HearstMade. The first issue features fashion entrepreneur (and real Bumble user) Lauren Chan on the cover and 100 pages of articles about dating, careers, friendship and other topics of interest to Bumble’s 50 million-plus users.

“Ever since Bumble launched back in 2014, our users have turned to us for advice — first, on all things dating and relationships, from how to make the first move to handling a ghosting or break-up,” says the blog post announcing the launch. “In the last four-plus years, as we've grown from a dating app into a social networking platform, you've come to us wondering how to make new friends as an adult, how to grow your side hustle into a career, and so much more. Now, we're excited to bring you more of what you've asked for all along, all in one convenient (and beautiful!) package.”

The magazine is organized into four sections that reflect the app’s different modes: “You First,” “You + BFFs,” “You + Dating” and “You + Bizz.” Each issue will feature advice from experts, celebrity interviews, in-depth features, trend pieces on hot topics, answers to burning questions posed by users, product guides and more. Contributors to the debut issue include tennis icon and Bumble global advisor Serena Williams, actresses and Bumble creative directors Erin and Sara Foster, and inspiring entrepreneurs like Man Repeller founder Leandra Medine, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer and Away luggage co-founder Jen Rubio.

“Our users have long sought out our content, and told us they wanted more: more stories, more advice, and more real-talk about dating, careers, friendship, wellness, and life in general,” Bumble editorial director Clare O’Connor said in news release. “We’re excited to expand our content offerings, and Hearst Magazines has been the ideal partner for our first foray into print.”

“Bumble is at the forefront of inspiring women to make connections and take initiative in all aspects of their lives with its positive message of empowerment,” said HearstMade editorial director Brett Hill in a statement. “The magazine is a perfect example of how HearstMade is changing the face of custom publishing with hyper-targeted content that reflects the brand’s ethos in the most authentic way.”

The first issue of Bumble Mag is available for free while supplies last. To request a copy, open the app and match with the magazine’s profile. For more on this dating service, check out our review of Bumble.
