Who is Thomas Enraght-Moony? He is the boss of Match.com and he did an interview earlier this week at the Times Online UK. The article for the most part reviews with Thomas, his previous work experience and what makes him the man to drive Match.com forward. They also of course, discuss Match.com. Most of the stuff talked about in regards to the dating service we have already heard and has been mentioned on this site in previous posts (not necessarily from Match.com though). There where a few interesting things mentioned as well as a few confirmation of stats for this year in regards to Match.com.
As of now it looks like Match.com current core of members continue to be between the age of 28 and 45, with an almost 50, 50 split between men and woman. The over 50 segment is the fastest growing as with most other dating sites.
One thing I didn't know about was Match.com UK recently made a deal to run dating sites for The Sun and News of the World, 2 very large news papers in the UK. Not much more information has been released but this will certainly open doors for Match.com and help bring in the younger crowd.
They also talked about a few differences of some of Match.com dating sites in other countries. These are in response in part to cultural differences. For instance, in French woman can use the site for completely free, while in Germany Match.com Male members can pay for a woman subscriber's membership. In Japan apparently members want blood type and income verification.
