The Match dating service is the recipient of the 2020 Editor's Top Pick - Paid award. From a paid dating service perspective Match has always been in the top spot in terms of number of active members. Thanks to smart marking TV campaigns singles continue to flock to the service with the expectations of meeting other singles serious about finding love. As with other paid dating services you can only communicate with members once you have paid for a subscription. It is free to create a profile and search, but that is about it. The advantages of communicating only with paid members are really important though. First, you know the other person is actively looking to date since they have money on the line, and second, since most subscriptions are paid by credit or debit card this means that their is much less chance of the person being some sort of scammer when compared to the free dating services.
If you want to know a bit more about Match members, lets look at some statistics they have provided. Over 90% of Match members have attended college, and 44% are single parents. Breaking down members by age, you will find 31% are 24 to 38, 36% are 39 to 53, and 28% are 54 and over.
Match went through a number of big changes this year. They streamlined the service and concentrated on improving their core dating feature set. Both the Match dating apps (found on iOS and Android) along with the website received a new color scheme and user interface. Match also embraced AI which is used now to help block 96% of internet bots from creating accounts.
If you are interested in Match, you should sign up as a member for free and create a profile (no credit card is required). This way you can search for other members you may like near your location. If you find some that spark your interest you can then decide on a subscription or not. The cost to join is under $25 a month.
