Tinder is this years recipient of the Editor's Top Pick - Over All award. In most years the winner of this award usually goes to the the Editors choice of the best paid dating service or the best free dating service. This year is different though.
So why did Tinder stand out over either award winners Match and POF?
Tinder is larger than both and has added a lot of new features over the past year. While some of these features are behind a pay wall you can't get past the 26 million matches a day Tinder facilitates between members. Plus it is the go to dating app for Generation Z singles (under 25) which makes up a large part of Tinder's membership base. Tinder also continues to innovate to attract new members with things like the choose your own video adventure "Swipe Night", and partnering with concert service Live Nation so users can find others who are going to the same concert. Tinder is not only popular in North America but in Europe and Asia as well making it's membership base much more global.
Tinder is free to join. All required features to find a date is free as well including creating a profile, matching, and communicating with members. They do offer several paid membership types that include additional perks like being Ad free, unlimited likes, and the ability to change your location. Paid memberships range in price from just over $4 a month to $30 depending on your age, membership selected, and term. Some features can also be purchased separately without a subscription.
