Dating platform Feeld debuted an updated app with more features in early December, only to find that users were having trouble logging in or using the app at all.
In a statement posted on its website about the app’s troubled relaunch, Feeld said: “Since our app update on Friday, we’ve been listening to your invaluable feedback, and understand your concerns about some of the changes, technical issues, and our responses. We know that some of you missed out on Feeld dates, Connections and experiences, and we are working on meaningful ways to make this right.”
After almost two weeks of continued problems, the dating app provided another update in mid-December.
The issues were wide-ranging, including privacy concerns. The app’s location setting revealed the neighborhoods of users instead of how many miles away they were. Access to viewing profiles becoming limited, and users saw an increased presence of bots and incorrect age displays. Many users complained that they couldn’t even login to their profiles, and were sent a notification that their accounts had been deleted.
Subscription-based users also lost access to their coveted “Daily Pings” that allowed them to convey a special “like” to a profile of interest so they stand out from the crowd. Feeld said[*1] they granted an additional 10 Pings to these accounts free of charge.
Feeld has taken the world by storm with its focus on helping people find unconventional relationships and sexual experiences, including polyamorous relationships and casual hookups. Adult Friendfinder is a close competitor and might have picked up some new users when Feeld was down.
Feeld tried to appeal to its frustrated user base, posting on its website: “We also have to say: even in challenging times like these, Feeld community members are the best people we know. We have seen so many incredibly honest, patient, and compassionate messages from our community. We’ve also seen so many hilarious (and well-deserved) jokes and memes about this situation that honestly keep us going as we work tirelessly to deliver the best Feeld experience possible.”
The company also posted on X (formerly Twitter) on December 19th after a new update with fixes to the problems: “Seriously, thank you so much for sticking with us. We remain, as ever, grateful for your support, and are committed to rolling out new updates frequently. If you're still having issues, please email our support team.”
Many users chimed in, noting that they were still having problems in contacting customer service and the app not working properly, including being unable to login.
Last week Feeld has also released another update[*2] on how they are fixing the problems.
