Dating app Bumble is taking the popular Lunar New Year holiday and launching a promotional celebration for its user base in Asia.
The “Bumble Lo Hei: Toss Love into Your New Year” campaign says it will “spice up” holiday traditions and give the celebration a romantic twist for those seeking love in 2024. Bumble will give away exclusive gift packages for users to help them “manifest” a great love life this coming year, and encourage them to take charge of their own love journeys.
The promotion was inspired by the traditional Lunar New Year “prosperity toss,” or “lo hei.”
According to Marketech-APAC[*1] , Bumble also partnered with Singaporean influencer Saffron Sharpe, who appears in a video to encourage others to plan their “romantic manifestations” for the year by sharing her own. The company also turned to TikTok Feng Shui expert Cliff Tan for guidance, who shares six ways that users can rearrange their furniture to invite love into their lives.
Tan shared his advice in a video, noting that your space reflects your mental well-being, and urges Bumble users to “arrange your mind before your space,” according to Adobo Magazine. He also encouraged people to create balance and harmony for themselves by rearranging furniture, making space and getting rid of clutter that can slow you down and interfere with mental clarity. He also encouraged more soft lighting to enhance romantic vibes, and to create a “love corner” in the bedroom where you can place objects that symbolize love to you, and see them each day.
Lucile McCart, communications director at Bumble APAC, shared the motivation behind partnering with Tan in a statement: “With 2024 looking to be the “year of self” as predicted by Bumble’s latest Dating Trends report, we hope that our community will be able to use these tips to not only spring clean and refresh their personal spaces, but to also understand that opening yourself up to new connections can be as easy as removing items that don’t serve you anymore.”
She continued in the statement: “As the saying goes, out with the old and in with the new. Sometimes little changes really can open us up to finding love or other kinds of romance.”
In addition, the company partnered with popular local brands Golden Duck and Hershey’s to create the curated and exclusive packages for its app users. The package contains eight treats, representing the 8 Love Mantras, and is free for all existing and new users in Singapore, and they can redeem the offer until February 12th, according to Marketech-APAC.
