Cupid is based in the United Kingdom and has enjoyed major success in their home country over the last few years. Cupid claims that their dating sites have over 34 million members in 39 countries. Their profits for 2011 was £7m before taxes.
Cupid is now mirroring this success in 2012 overseas. In the first 6 months of this year Cupid reported revenues in countries like the US, Canada, France and Spain to have increased by 122 percent to £22.2m. Overall company revenues have gone up by 51 percent to £38.6m (almost $62 million US). Profits for the first 6 months of 2012 is reported to be £3.6m. The large market growth was fueled in large part by higher marketing spending.
