The finalists have been selected for the 8th annual iDate Awards. It’s now up to the public to choose the winners.
Each year, the iDate Awards highlight the people and websites that represent the best and most innovative aspects of the online dating, matchmaking, and date coaching businesses. The winners will be announced at the iDate Awards ceremony on the night of January 25, 2017 in Miami. The ceremony will fall on the final evening of the 47th international iDate Dating Industry Super Conference, the industry’s largest convention and expo.
This year’s winners will be selected from thirteen categories:
The finalists come from locations around the world, and range from internationally recognized dating sites to new startup companies to mobile dating apps. Check out the most hotly contested categories below.
Best Mobile Dating App
The candidates this year are Temptr, Her, Badoo, Bumble, and the ever-present Tinder. As two of the year’s most talked about apps, it’s not hard to imagine Tinder and Bumble going head to head in this race. Tinder took the crown in 2015, so perhaps 2016 is Bumble’s time to shine?
Best Up And Coming Dating Site
This award is given to the most promising dating site that’s under three years old. For 2016, the finalists are Lively, Luv Byrd, Veat, Good Deed Dating, and Concealed Carry Match. You may not know any of them yet, but if iDate’s experts are right, one of them could be 2017’s big thing.
Best Niche Dating Site
A niche dating site focuses on a distinct subset of the population by lifestyle, culture, religion, interest, or behavior. The cream of the crop for 2016 includes LoveAndFriends.com, iHeart Volunteers, Luv Byrd, Dream Marriage, and Christian Filipina.
Best Dating Coach
This award is given to the best overall dating coach in the industry. The candidates this year are Sheri McCall of It’s Just Lunch, Kiki Strickland, Julie Spira of CyberDatingExpert.com, Ivy Panganiban of Christian Filipina, and Abi Jude of Drawing Down The Moon.
Best Matchmaker
This year’s finalists in the best matchmaker category are George Parker of It’s Just Lunch, Michelle Jacoby of DC Matchmaking, Andrea Messent of Drawing Down The Moon, Laurie Berzack of Carolinas Matchmaker, and Svetlana Mukha of Diolli.com.
Best Dating Site
Last by far from least is the competition for best overall dating site. 2016’s nominees are Match, OkCupid, Zoosk, It’s Just Lunch, eHarmony, and RSVP. Past winners include Cupid.com in 2013, PlentyOfFish in 2014, and Match in 2015. Can Match pull off a double, or will a new winner wear the crown?
Voting is now open to the public until January 8, 2017. Make your voice heard at the iDate Awards[*1] . While you are at it Dating Sites Reviews also runs their own awards. To cast your vote visit our 2016 Single's Choice Award poll.
