They will steal your identity

I was signed up for another web-dating site and I deleted my profile when I met someone. Weeks later my girlfriend came to me angry that I was posting on Matchmaker.

I actually never signed up for Matchmaker (a division of Date.com).

What had happened is that I had my entire profile stolen.

I have contacted both sites demanding that they cease using my photographs and personal info, as it is a violation of privacy law.

They first moved my information to another city, which was an insult to my intelligence.

Now they have blocked the search feature from the page unless you are a member. Of course I know that my information is still there as when I plugged in the username to "sign up" It is already in use.

DO NOT use Matchmaker or Date.com They have stolen my identity and nearly ruined my relationship for having more "members" that do not even exist or want to be on a dating site.

Fake Profiles

My experience with Matchmaker.com is about 75% of their profiles are fake or don't exist. The only Women/Girls who ever seemed to contact me were Negerian Scammers, Men posing as women with stolen pictures, trying to get me to send money to Ghana or Nigeria. I had a hard time cancelling and I'm still dealing with them. I've heard that all dating sites pull the same stuff?. Keep profiles FOREVER making it appear they have members? Someone should investigate???

I agree with the above poster about the nigerian scammers. In my case it was about 90% of the women who contacted me. They were always pretty girls/women who posted thier location in a state, in the us. They always say their mother and father are dead, they have no one, their occupation is an art dealer, or something, they were buying gold and a shipment has been held in customs and they need money to get the gold out of customs. The say they will pay you back once they are in your arms in the states? Ha! Ha! This is just one of the many stories they use. I started out wirth a three month subsciption, then about the time it was going to expire, I was bombarded with a bunch of "interest requests", so I extended my subscription for another three months, six months total. Nothing changed and I acually met one live real person through them in six months, so I decided to take advantage of their "love guarantee"? Find someone in six months or get six months for free? Another joke. They are a complete rip off and I've reported them to the Interent Crime Complaint Department of the Internet

I am currently experiencing this. It's also happening to the women. Men are just as much scammers. It's very scary as someone just entering the dating scene after again. I've exclaimed if there's another, I'm outta there.

I used this site years ago, when I was in my 20s. There were tons of guys messaging me for casual sex, many of them with more than one profile, each with different information, usually with either the same picture or no photo at all. Guys, we really aren't that stupid. I recently checked the URL to see if it was still there. It is, and they have seemingly rebranded themselves as a site for people over 30 looking for serious relationships. Whatever. If that were true, there wouldn't be a 'casual' option for the question about what kind of relationship you're looking for or dates in the 1990s on the pulldown menu for your birthday. It's all marketing claptrap, and a big waste of time and money.
