When I first started online dating, DH was the only online site where I actually had a date. I've heard of several couples who got together after "meeting" on DH. This actually seems to work better for the over 40 crowd. Many of the younger members seem to be more interested in casual encounters and are likely to complain if they don't make a connection right away.

The DH forums are supposed to be better than those on other sites. I've found that there is a lot of social networking going on there, Some people do find partners on DH but stick around for the forums because they have made friends there.

The major problem with the forums is the large number of trolls and fake profiles there. Some members have even been able to create profiles impersonating other posters. Since this is a free site the moderators aren't always able to keep up with the fakes. Members do have the option of blocking posters that they find distasteful and flagging post that they find inappropriate.
